RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-05-2023 Glad I got the extra jab. We were woken by banging and clattering as the scaffolding was removed at long last. Took them an hour, much faster than the assembling - but there are bits of plastic flying everywhere. Apparently they are only responsible for the hardware, so I might be doing a bit of a clean up after coffee and cake today. Chilly this morning, sweater and boots day but fingers all crossed, no rain I hope... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-05-2023 Oops ended up at the med center anyway. MrP asked me who I had been fighting, I have a lovely bright red blood shot eye. I hadn't even noticed it when I did my hair.. And being on warfarin I had to have it checked. She said it has stopped bleeding. Did say how it could happen but I couldn't hear her anyway. But she gave me some drops to stop it being irritated. And two repeats as well so thats good. I normally buy eye drops. free is better. lol RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-05-2023 Gorgeous day if a bit windy. Did the groceries before I planned to get another blood pressure check, but after paying at the checkout decided to skip the test - $140 for ONE New World bag full, with NO meat... Blardy cat!! She better be really cuddly for the next week or I'm shortening her rations, lol. Now, if the weather could just hold through tomorrow when I am off for a chest xray I will be very happy. Mine was 103/53... and no I hadnt been drinking much. The visitors toilet at the home is outside and horrible. So I dont drink much past a sip to wet my throat. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 24-05-2023 Good you had your eye checked, popeye Better safe than sorry. And I suspect with free 'scripts it could be cheaper to see the doctor and have the meds put on the 'script. I used to do that with Panadol when the kids were small. I've had an expensive day, but my new reading glasses are gorgeous It was the last day for Spec Savers two pair for $299 and you could choose any frames. I will have a purple and a red pair in three weeks And I've picked up my sewing machine, she has been serviced and is good to go. She even has a three month warranty on the service. There's soo much you can get on prescription these days. Nasal sprays for a start, and yes paracetamol. I haven't brought any for years. But I didn't know about the drops until today, The last bottle I got were marked down. Now if they were to have a deep heat type item on script I'd be super happy Just did my price comparisons. I can save $5-40 on a bag a cat litter alone if I go to Pukekohe.. Its nuts when its exactly the same brand RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-05-2023 I want a pedicure on script... Those toes are getting further and further away. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-05-2023 (24-05-2023, 04:24 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: I want a pedicure on script... Have you had any links with the RSA or diabetic Hunni? Both qualify for podiatrists visits. Thankfully Im still bendy enough to be able to reach my toes, quite easily. Always been like that lol RE: You can never have enough... - JanW - 24-05-2023 Hunni my toes seem to be further away but I am sure my arms haven’t got any shorter - one downside of living alone - evidently if you get a prescription from a specialist you still have to pay $15 for a script according to the chemist - he was pleased when he heard the announcement as most people who weren’t entitled to free after 20 scripts claimed on their insurance and more often than not came in for reprints of their receipts - but he is not so sure after reading the official blurb - people aren’t going to be happy when he charges them Popeye when you can shift into a smaller house like I did the reduced cleaning requirements are fantastic - I had 3 bathrooms now I have 1.5 love it Thought you might like to see this photo - these apples stretched right to the sea - https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1992137609.jpg RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-05-2023 Your right there Jan.. It will be nice in a smaller place. Trouble is these days Im paying the same as a smaller house, and in some cases they are dearer. OMG such an Absolute waste. Hopefully the birds etc will make the most of them RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-05-2023 My friend has a regular script for her GS issued by his psych team, not funded, and she also pays a premium to the pharmacy that issues the meds, AND has to pay courier charges because that is the only issuing chemist. She too is wondering if those fees will go. No doubt we will find out. I'm going to check with my GP about putting a podiatrist visit on my Disability allowance, I'm told it might be covered, so I will check with WINZ when I drop off my rent increase letter. It is going to have to be reassessed anyway because of the script fees thing so may as well check and do the paperwork before that kicks in. Or off! ACC really should cover it, it is the altered foot that I need checked. Having been twice ankle fused the foot is twisting as the ligaments shorten and it is becoming an issue. This growing old thing is a pain!! RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 24-05-2023 (24-05-2023, 04:24 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: I want a pedicure on script... Bloody hell - its not just me then! Damn things move further away every time. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-05-2023 Morning everyone RIP Tina Turner. She had a long life with a rough start. and so many songs to be remembered by. I've often thought that our feet should be at knee level at least. Im blessed at being bendy. Bloods and groceries today. I have things worked out to the last cent. I kind of like the challenge to make sure I get it right. Provided I dont have too many temptations arise. Sad for that 95 year old lady to die, in Australia.. But by god that Female chief of police is a hard woman. (other words Id like to use). She wont give out too much info and honestly doesn't appear to have a heart. Mind you she might be totally different at home. Have a fab day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 25-05-2023 morning ladies Wahoooo another fine day Ohhh wow, Jan, that's a huge number of apples. My worries would be vermin like rats, mice, possums and the like eating them and then there being a huge breeding problem. The maize has been cut finally so fingers crossed the two rats we both saw the other day will be hungry enough to try the bait. My feet are the same distance and I can bend thanks to my yoga stretches. It really does make a difference to the body. I hadn't thought about the disability part of Super being affected by the free 'scripts. Our review is at Christmas time so no doubt things will change then. The Aussie police probably can't say much, popeye, as there would be an investigation, especially now she has died. But, yes, she could sound a little more sympathetic. What a horrible way for a great grandmother to die. RIP Tina Turner. All the greats are leaving us The lawn needs mowing today, thank goodness for the fine weather. Time to get the washing on and get moving. No sign of MrK or the Furry One, they are both tucked up in bed sound asleep. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 25-05-2023 I will always give the cops of this world a bit of credit to offset their stuff ups. As a young woman I accidently fell in with a group of police officers who were flatting together and only discovered they were cops months into the friendship when one appeared from his room in full uniform ready to go to work. To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement, and boy, did they enjoy my reaction lol. Anyway we were all friends for many years, and they had some incredible work stories, and I came to understand the toll their jobs took on them as human beings. They do the worst jobs, see human beings in appalling situations, and are expected to be super human by most of us, those young men taught me a lot about the good and the bad in people. None of which makes tasering a demented old lady - or for that matter, running one down with a minor royals motorcade any the more acceptable, but then, life isn't fair. Sometimes shit happens and it is really sad... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 25-05-2023 MrK's niece and her fiance are cops and yep, it can be a thankless job. She has been spat on and physically assaulted while doing her job. And yet we expect them to turn up when we need them. The lawn is all mowed, including the berm our nieghbour's contractor used to mow. It was hard going on wet grass, but I work better in the morning and waiting for dry grass in the afternoon means procrastination. MrK is waiting for the car to dry so he can take it in for a stone chip repair to the windscreen. Thank you, AMI, and the endless amount of windscreen repairs/replacements we can have. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 25-05-2023 morning all very crisp start to the day dont mind because it is going to be fine. KM your reading glasses sound great. goodness Jan lots of apples I hope the birds ( and others) dont get too drunk when they start to ferment. Just packing my personal stuff for retreat - my suitcase has the sewing kits so minimal packing in a very small hold all. have a good day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-05-2023 It is a very Thankless Job. And I wouldn't want to be doing her job either. When our local cop Stretch was Killed, it was such a waste of a brilliant man. Biggest funeral Ive been to. Probably the most moving too. I remember standing opposite the rows of police , as his coffin was walked to the car. One of the Female cops was standing to attention with tears streaming down her face. When they At Eased I went over and asked if she would like a hug. She did and she thanked me for it. Blood test wasn't great, it leaked a bit. oops.. Possibly why my eye bled too. So it will be interesting to see what my INR is. I noticed last time that I wasn't getting much for my disability allowance. Not sure if I was getting anything for scripts. But no use checking into it now I wont have to find that $100 in February. Im happy enough to loose having to pay that. Was home just before 10am so the day is mine... Waiting for the grass to dry. I want to spray the edges since there isnt any rain on the radar. So ill do that after lunch. And mow in a few days. it has slowed a little. Thankfully that doesnt annoy my arm too much. And the walking hurts but helps lol RE: You can never have enough... - R2x1 - 25-05-2023 (24-05-2023, 07:24 PM)Lilith7 Wrote:Simple; we're growing old. Growing stronger; remember what a struggle it was to carry home the shopping if mum had sent you down to the shops with 15/-7d to pay for it? (($1.58)) Now you can casually wander out of the butcher's shop carrying $150.99 of meat easily in one hand. Stronger appetite. Could you, as a 10 year old, visualise single-handedly eating a pie that cost well (or badly) over 2 Pounds? Then drinking three Pounds worth of coffee? If you're concerned that weeding is tiring, consider that you're on one end of the weed, pulling. On the other end there's the entire earth! Better memory. Honestly, can you recall your memory ever being better? That's not even making allowance for the fact that there's a lot more history to remember. And if you're still concerned about getting older, consider that to the children of today, right now is going to be their good old days. I have tried to get Madame Le Dog interested in weeding but she gets that look in her eye & makes herself scarce. Bit of a bugger of a day today going here there & everywhere & not really achieving much. I saw the Paddy Gower thing last night & was quite shocked that our schools are still using two different methods to teach kids to read - I'd though they'd come to their senses & understood the benefits of phonics (sounding out the words) years ago but no. Different schools use different methods. I'm fairly sure that our generation used phonics back in the day & most of those I know of the same age tend to read widely & without difficulty. |
