That's an improvement though Popeye so well done you for keeping calm; that will have helped. Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-06-2023

So, yesterday I get a letter with the pre op clinic appointment... And today I get another letter apologising for the delay in receiving treatment.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...

But who cares? I slept right through the night last night, today has been glorious, it is wine time and the only bad thing about today is I am on the last few pieces of my beautiful jigsaw puzzle. Oh dear how sad and I only have another three left to do, lol...

Life is good.

Lunch with friends at local Vietnamese  restaurant today.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-06-2023

Morning everyone

Thank you I am pleased with myself for not losing my rag and ending up arguing. I told MrP last night I was proud of him, but that it was about time.
He knows the ball is in his court now. He hates injustice. He said the one involved with the phone debacle is picking on one of the younger girls. I said encourage the younger one to stick up for herself without creating more anger etc. But I said you know that the Karma Bus will arrive for the other one. Eventually.

Im having a day out today. I've been at the homes everyday but Wednesday, since Sunday. I need time out. So Im going to pop over to Pukekohe. Groceries will be kept to a minimum. I want to check out ladies Jammies at the warehouse. I do not remember the last time I wore Pjs, but being on the chair they would be better I think. But I have no idea of their sizing. And I will also compare prices. Mr,P suggested getting trackies and sweatshirts. But I wonder if they will be too hot.

I have Always been a skirts, dresses and nighties girl. But the smaller I get the more I'm wearing pants lol.

Don't remember if I have asked you ladies. Has anyone got any brilliant ideas of how to stop rings turning on your fingers. I've had to have 5 on at a time to try and stop them spinning and now the friction has caused the eczema to flare up. I think I heard of being able to have rings joined together? just not sure if I dreamt it or not. Ahs anyone heard of it and did it help? My hand looks and feels very naked lol.

Lilith how long is your hedge.? Im guessing it must be a very long one. My sister had a wonderful hedge , she planted jasmine along it and it always smelt divine. She didn't get hay fever lol.

Madam has just come and told me she would like her second course now please.. She has a Puree Kiss before we get out of bed. Then has her breakfast.

Geeze I thought it was going to be fine all weekend. The lawn will have to wait. It would be a good day today but that wont happen after shopping.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-06-2023

morning ladies Smile  Another gorgeous winter's day Smile  I love these kinds of days.

Yesterday was sucessful with having the wire along the fenceline put up but I've noticed MrK is having problems gripping things properly and he's becoming frustrated with it.  He has a docs appointment in three weeks (the earliest appointment he can have!) so I'll ask him to add his hands to his 'list'.

OHH, that's funny with the letters crossing over.  But nice they apologised.  Now things will move a bit quicker for you.

Well done, popeye on staying calm.

Today I'll do the housework, make the most of the sunshine and strip the bed, wash the throws on the couch and all that kind of stuff.  I'll also prune another couple of roses.  I work methodically through the garden as there has been the odd year where I have missed a rose lol.

I didn't get to stitch yesterday,  I think I'm avoiding it as it's getting harder to see.  New glasses next week!

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-06-2023

I have two bonsai and a bonsai forest. The trees are a ginkgo my grandmother started back in the 80s, which I inherited, and the second one a Scentasia camelia I bought when I moved in here eleven years ago. It is a small white fading to pink flowering heavily scented form and has just finished now. Lovely little tree but needs shaping badly. The forest is a pot of pohutukawa seedlings coming up for seven years old now and completely accidental, it just grew and I never had the strength to tell it to stop. Poor tortured babies they all are, determined to survive despite the cruelty of cramped pots and neglect! My grandmothers tree though is a real burden, every winter I worry till I see the teeny green shoots showing on the leaf stems and know that yes, once again I haven't managed to kill it...

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 09-06-2023

Its not the size of That Bloody Hedge Popeye, more that the wretched thing is gradually falling down, & away from the fence - which is a good thing in the long term but annoying in the short term. Until I can get it sorted, its likely to be annoying but want to get it done before spring if I can.

Ventured out earlier & did a bit of shopping for the next two birthdays; the eldest great grandsons now have a board game & novelty hot water bottle each each so just a few books to get now.

I agree Lilith.. Yeah one that is standing up is less hassles.

I was talking to the lady in our old place one day and she asked who had planted the what I call ladder fern under the windows. I raised my hand lol She hates it lol... probably not as much as I hated the garden that the landlords put in the front. Both are now massive messes.

Saw some very cute animal baby hotties in NW yesterday when I was in with Bobbie. If I hadn't have had an excess of them Id have been tempted by the slot. It was very cute

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-06-2023

If it is this ladder fern, I have pulled out truckloads of that thing over the years. Good filler, too good in some cases...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-06-2023

morning ladies Smile Wahooo another fine, winters day Big Grin

I hate those ladder ferns too as they are so invasive. And they grow pretty much anywhere.

We went to my friend's celebration of life yesterday afternoon. It was lovely Heart One of her wishes was that we all help fill the grave, so the council guys supplied up with shovels and we did exactly that. The council guys supervised us and compacted down the soil and we shoveled. Just as well I wasn't wearing heels lol.

Today I'll keep pruning roses and anything else that needs pruning as I come across it. The echinacea plants need dead heading and the fuschias also need cutting back.

OHH, your bonsais sound gorgeous. Your grandmother's bonsai is a real responsibility and fingers crossed you have green shoots this spring.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 10-06-2023

Morning all
Very nippy start but will be a lovely sunny day.

Becoming a bit of a habit staying in bed and reading while pinned down by the k9s. Who needs a hottie Big Grin

Enjoyed our lunch yesterday as well as the company of good friends. DS and his family,y called in after school was out. DGS wanted me to make him another hut like before so sent him to get quilts to build his hie away. Made pikelets for them which I haven't made in a while. The y all disappeared Cool

I need to clean the windows in our living areas this morning, this afternoon hope to finish the hand stitching of the binding on vest. The zebra head is coming along I will be glad when it is done.

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-06-2023

Morning everyone

Beautiful here too. Thought it was meant to rain.

Yes it was Ladder fern. I got a few pieces from my Uncle, they were growing under his lemon trees. It certainly very quickly filled the strip between the house and footpath. It snaps off easy enough , I used to just break some off every time I walked past lol.

Have put another piece of flap in the crockpot. And should get another 7 meals. I managed to get 4 kilos of , Annabelle? I think they were potatoes. The skin just slides off, small oval potatoes but not sweet like a lot of small ones. I dont like sweet potatoes. So a nice dish of pulled lamb mashed tatties or even whole but diced and lashings of gravy for dinner.

Popping up for my pills and Ill go have a wander through the Junktion ( recycle center) and see what is calling me.

Have enjoyed my new old Donna Hay cooking magazines, have one section of lots of different cookies to go through tonight. Madam had had enough of my attention not being on her. They are old one is 2009, but they have been well looked after. The 2012 one was $8-99, makes me wonder what they would cost these days.. 50 cents was my cost lol.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 10-06-2023

Met the newest great granddaughter, every bit as gorgeous as her big sister, but I'd forgotten how tiny new babies are. Very slightly warmer today hence the visit, & she's settling in well apparently. Big sister making sure she had blanket tucked in around her so she wouldn't get cold. Smile

Its nice to see the sun for a change, even if only briefly.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 11-06-2023

morning ladies Smile We have a frost! And about time too Tongue

Awww Lilith, there is nothing like holding a new grandchild, is there Heart

Once the frost has lifted, I'll finish pruning the last six roses. Yesterday I moved 'Jack Frost' to a sunnier position. I'm hoping this, along with a good feed of potash in the spring, will encourage him to flower white roses instead of reverting back to pink. 'Jack Frost' was so top heavy, it was leaning over and pulling out the roots. Somerfield roses are great 'doers' but boy, they need keeping in check Heart

I might as well do some baking while waiting for the frost and if time, do a bit of ironing while the ironing board is still out.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 11-06-2023

Good morning.

Looking like another beaut day with a clear sky and sunshine.

Busy weekend so far with family and a day out yesterday for DH and I to remember getting hitched 45 years ago. We enjoyed roaming the quiet beach further up the coast collecting interesting pieces of driftwood followed by coffee and a bite  Smile

Only a couple of weekends left with the wee family staying with us before they move down country.  It has been fun watching our GD grow and develop and now at nearly 7 months sitting and roly polying around the room!

I miss my roses KM but not at pruning time!  Like you I started about now and worked my way around the garden, a few each day.

A catch up day today and making the most of the settled weather starting with washing out.

Have a good day.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 11-06-2023

I attacked the kitchen yesterday. I dropped a knife down between stove and bench and in retrieving it noticed the appalling state of the floor. I then discovered moving the stove is not possible so I wound a Tuffy wipe around a pole and did my best but it really isn't much of an improvement. I will have to ask for help at a later date. The rest of the floor got partially done but then the stupid sponge mop started to fall apart, so I took that as a signal and put the job on hold till I can get a new one. No wonder I loathe housework, it is a most frustrating business.

I did watch Arnold last night though, boy the Terminator has had an interesting life. Pity he can't run for President, he'd be a good option.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-06-2023

Morning everyone

Certainly cold and clear. Wonder where the forecast weekend of rain went. lol

I miss having the adopted grandies, but their parents are still ghosting and playing stupid games like putting my listings on TM on their watchlist, and they are blocked. But insist on trying to annoy me. Time they grew up really.

I got the back lawn done, nearly time to do the front again. but hopefully it will slow down a little...

Made a stupid mistake last night. Had 15 frozen meals in the first time used containers. Did NOT put them in a basket like I normally do, just sat them on the tray of the walker.. Every one hit the floor and ever piece broke. What a Blardy mess. Half way up the hall way. So I had to carry on and bag up the meals, which thankfully none actually touched the floors. Put them back in the freezer and then clean up the mess. Cant have Missy swallowing chips of plastic.

Such a waste of containers. And not easy when the bones dont want to bend over.

So I ended up watching the bake off and Ten Pound Poms on delay, thank goodness for that tho. So it was a late sore night lol.

A quiet day today. Rubbish and washing some of the bigger stuff that doesn't go in the dishwasher

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 11-06-2023

Morning all
Frost this morning but will be a lovely day always nice to see the sun

Oh Popeye a mess is never nice to  lean up.

Vest finished and the consensus is not to put piped pockets on it.
Zebra just about finished have to stem stitch the mane not sure how to stem stitch on knitting but no doubt I will find out.

DH off at church while  atheist me just  finished a bit of housework, folding laundry while another load is  being  rented in the washer. Quite interesting how we   both rub along with diverse views.
Dogs happily ate their Bravecto chew so they are treated for ectoparasites for another 3 months just got to catch the feline to treat her.

DD birthday today so we will be looking after DGD1 from late afternoon so Dd and her DH can go out for dinner.

Time for coffee  then hang out washing

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 11-06-2023

Yes, that bending thing is a real issue round here too. Who was the idiot who decided the board under kitchen cupboards should be recessed? Someone who never had to clean it, obviously...
