RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 26-06-2023

So I looked him up online, Round the World sailor, well traveled, lived everywhere it seems, an interesting life, lol.. And only months older than me.

How did we stalk people before the 'net...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 26-06-2023

It can be fun looking people up online Hunnie.. Glad you have confidence in your surgeons etc.

Wow Kiwimade, I wouldn't be standing too close to the sparky lol.. things might jump.

OH I was spoilt today. Took the gear for toasted Sammie's up to the girls. Only made two so we are trying again next Monday.. but the reason I only made too was cos of the husband of Jean that died in the new year had a good fishing Trip yesterday. And he brought up a tray of crumbed snapper. Well we can redo toasted Sammie's, the fish couldn't wait. lol

Irene has taken to her bed, but she is still eating but Dianne joined us near the end. Hopefully Irene will pick up again.

Colleen isn't happy. She's not getting the Hospital level care she is paying for so she was going to ring both her daughters tonight. She said she's not one to give in. So fingers crossed.

Bobbie was good. She had a bit of a tiff with the hairdresser but they gave her a free blow wave today so she was happy enough. And not talking in the past today.

MrP was in a good mood too, so all in All today has been a good day.

I Wiseley didn't tell him that I hugged Young Peter today.. Even tho he is Gay MrP who is homophobic would not like it. Nice to have a new gay friend. He reminds me so much of my last gay friend so its good for both of us I think.

Crikey, Hunni - a round the world sailor no less! Interesting circles you're moving in; its definitely sounding hopeful about the surgeon too, he clearly knows what he's doing which is always an excellent start.

Lovely that the grandson wants to come & stay with the Furry one, KM! Smile

A granddaughter has a gay friend too Popeye & he's one of those fortunate people who, when you run into them anywhere has the gift of immediately raising your spirits because he's just so lovely. Smile

Had my day all planned out & a list in my head of what needed doing when I ventured out. That was all shot to hell when eldest granddaughter called in unexpectedly, stayed for lunch & took me over to the mall where I did get a couple of gifts for the next baby (due September) but somehow managed forget to to take the list of books & naturally, couldn't remember titles.
Never mind, tomorrow's another day & I have to go there tomorrow anyway.

However...it wasn't until about an hour ago that I realised what else I'd forgotten. I think it was the third reproachful look from Madame Le Dog before the penny dropped - I completely forgot to take her for her walk! Oh dear, I guess I'm in the dog box.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 27-06-2023

morning ladies Smile We have a real pea souper out there, you can barely see across the road.

Oh wow, a worldly gentleman, OHH Tongue Nothing like internet stalking lol.

OMG Lilith, how dare you forget Madam le Dog's walk lmao. They have a wonderful way of making us feel guilty. I'm sure she will sniff more than usual when walked today as your 'punishment'.

I worked with a guy who was a transvestite years ago and he was wonderful. It was a real shame his family wanted nothing to do with him as they were missing out on so much.

Once our bins have been emptied, I'll refill them with the garden waste that can't be composted and mow the lawn. A quick prune of the hydrangea and the garden is done for winter. A bit later than usual but then we had a lot more to do.

Our nieghbour has had pest control people in to get rid of the ever increasing magpie flock and what a difference that is making to the small bird population here.

Fingers crossed I can get to the sewing machine or my embroidery today.

Happy crafting )

Good morning.

Overcast and quite cool. We may be in for showers this afternoon.

Last few days of family here. Big change for them living in Wellington but means son can spend a few days a week "at the office" and move ahead with his career.

Lucky to have power on still, unlike many who lost theirs after a police chase last evening that ended with (stolen) car vs power pole! We heard it all from the couch with sirens and the inevitable crash  Dodgy The idiot survived and in custody.

I can imagine those "staring eyes" Lilith, hard to ignore, lol!

Onto sleeves with cardi.

Cuppa finished, time to move.

P.S. sounds like you are in good hands OHH. Very reassuring for you.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 27-06-2023

Morning all
Overcast expecting some showers

OHH sounds like fun Dr who can definitely relate to his patients always good to get a good report card for your surgeon too.

Finished piecing the I Spy blocks yesterday might get them sewn into a top this afternoon, will need to visit quilt shop to get backing fabric.

Think we might go for drive up the coast this morning

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 27-06-2023

Morning all,

Chilly again this morning. We were up early but both went back to sleep. So a late start lol.

Gay men are the Best and safest friends a gal can have. And Im glad Peter has accepted me. We had fun yesterday.

Not a lot on my agenda today. But I really must put some elastic on MrP's jammie shorts.

I got a piece of pork roast last week so I have that defrosting. Will do the usual roast vege's. Its only about the thickness of a couple of good chops so it wont take too long to cook. And will be enough for a couple of meals and maybe a sandwich.

I was very good and didnt shop last night. Hoping for a FPO. Which I have, and its 3 days long so fingers crossed no one else has it.

Wow 45 years of being a woman today, only remember as it happened the night before my mother and step father got married. lol. Hoping the next surgery doesn't mess things up in that direction yet again. That's my only concern about the surgery, my hormones go into overdrive for some reason.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-06-2023

When I came here I rearranged the kitchen and put a shelf across the windows over the sink resting on 2 double cube units at either bench end with brackets in between. These days it is too high to keep clean so I got a friend up to lower the brackets, which she did after I rearranged the cubes to a single double at one end, and at the other. She used one of those bubble level things to make sure it wasn't as cack handed as my original effort. Weird I thought, looking at it, that aint straight... So we decided it was because the double cube unit at one end wasn't upright like the one lying sideways at the other end. So, after she left I emptied the suspect and uprighted it...

And discovered the bench all this makeshift construction rests on isn't level. "£$%^&*()_)(*&!!!!

But at least it is all shiny clean now. Thank heavens for leftovers, because the kitchen is chaos...

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 27-06-2023

Did the groceries early, since its supposed to tip down this afternoon, there have been a few spots but not bad so far - came home & after a quick coffee took Madame Le Dog for a walk - I think I've been forgiven.
Have bought two little Hairy Maclary outfits for the two new babies; very cute & not overpriced either. One will be a Xmas gift for Violet & the other for baby shower for the wee one due in September - which apparently I have to go to. The granddaughters have decided, & given that those two particular granddaughters are Extremely Good At Organising, I won't be arguing.

I'm quite sure that those two together could organise an invasion of Europe if needed. On a weekend & in their spare time! Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-06-2023

That is just what I did, and now as I put things back I listen for creaking noises. Just in case of an implosion...

I never was much good with a Phillips.

The Warehouse have a Marko Battery Drill , complete with its own little tool kit. Heavy but not too heavy for our hands. I LOVE mine. Wasn't tooo pricey either. Just cant remember what it was

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 27-06-2023

Might be this one, Popeye. It looks useful.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-06-2023

Oooooh, with that one I could make the shelf strong enough for more big fat jars. And pot plants, lol...

But first I have to finish sorting the mess I have made in there, so I can steam clean the bits that really need it.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 28-06-2023

Morning everyone

Its been hosing down this morning. Thankfully the lawn has slowed down cos I need it to be a lot dryer.

Had another sale overnight. Yay.. Things seem to be moving at the mo which is great. Oddly I nearly biffed all the Tupperware lids, but have sold 7 in the last few days.. Makes a difference with it not being sold here now. Im glad I stocked up, for sure.

Off to see MrP this morning, hope its not raining too hard by then. I finally did the jammies, he's only wearing summer gear.

Have a fab day everyone.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 28-06-2023

morning ladies Smile More fog here in the Waikato this morning.

That little powered screwdriver looks pretty handy, popeye.

Nothing more frustrating than doing a job to find the previous person made a slap happy job. When I stripped all the wallpaper off our home I found 13 holes covered by wallpaper and either not repaired or not repaired properly. A piece of card cut off a weetbix box and electrical tape just does not fix a hole. And nor does plastering over the wallpaper hiding the hole and then painting it.

I belong to a rose group on FB and one of the ladies has a robtic/electric pair of secateurs. I thought, ohhhh yessss, that will do me for a Christmas present. Pulled up short when I saw the price was just under $1000 lol. ummm... maybe not. There should be some cheaper versions around, so I'll have a look online. They cut up to 40mm so would be extremely useful for the fruit and other trees we have as well. I suspect I might be saving for a bit, especially after all the appliances we have had to replace lately.

Today the plan is to sew. I need to get a few things done before my machine has to be put away so our daughter can use the bedroom when she stays the night this weekend.

happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 28-06-2023

I did get a battery operated screwdriver, a Black and Decker, from Oz, but the batteries got pirated for something else. A rechargeable one would be sensible. Or a pack of double As, lol. I do like the slightly slimmed down kitchen though, I suspect it is all about those jars, but the lower more usable shelf is also really good. A kirchen needs to be efficient...

Weather looks good for my Wednesday wander, but I will check before committing to it!

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 28-06-2023

kiwimade64, they're not a good idea, powered secateurs are inherently dangerous and can easily snip off fingers in a moment of lost attention to the job in hand.

Unless they have really tiny jaws so you only risk a nasty cut I wouldn't buy them if I were you.

With manual models you always have awareness of what is going on with the state of the blades but even so I have cut the end of my fingers more than once and ruined many a pair of gloves by snipping a loose finger-end of the glove just missing my actual finger.

RE: You can never have enough... - JanW - 28-06-2023

Good morning - Karcher working hard this morning but sun is shining and today for the first time for ages there is no rain forecast so it’s going to be a good day -
