RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 20-07-2023 morning ladies More fog but I think the sun is trying to come through Good you understand about MrP's mood swings, popeye Yesterday I took a pile of clothes and other bits and pieces to the local op shop, so good to have it all gone. And nice to be on top of the clutter. While out and about I took the recycling out to the transfer center. What an exciting life we lead lol. Today I plan to start tackling the little bux hedge around the tree but will have to fight my way through the jasmine. That's ok, it needs a good hack back. The FIFA Women's World Cup starts today Our girls will be happy with one win I'll just be happy to see them play. Coffee's finished, time to get this day started Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 20-07-2023 Morning everyone, A lovely fine start up here, chilly tho Well that's made the start of the day Different. There will be a lot of worried people at the mo for sure. Certainly going to be remembered with it also being the start of the games. Not too much happening for me today. Ill go pay some on the dreaded car bill and get a few groceries, dont need a lot thankfully. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 20-07-2023 Ouchies $297 car bill... I guess it could be worse. Not sure of the breakdown of it. Trying to ring the moody one to tell him. But he is ignoring the phone.. Ill let him eat his lunch. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-07-2023 Interesting morning, I was lying in bed watching the CBD drama unfold on tv when there were nearby sirens and we were buzzed by a low flying helicopter, and I mean buzzed right overhead. Seems the Police were doing a long scheduled school visit... RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 20-07-2023 Drama for Aucklanders this morning, not fun. Cold here but still no sign of predicted all day rain so was able to rush out early to get bread etc. & then do another short burst in garden. And take Madame Le Dog for an early walk. Probably should have done back lawn but don't feel inclined to now - sod it, it can wait. RE: You can never have enough... - JanW - 20-07-2023 Terrible happening in Auckland - two innocent construction workers won’t go home to their families tonight - sad to see the perpetrator is so young - Robies staff who had to sleep on site during the cyclone while the two mongrel mob factions fought in the car park over whose territory the supermarket was firing shots into the building -they had no power no communications- two have still not returned to work can’t imagine how bad it’s going to be for the other construction workers on site this morning Pleased your sorting out Mr Ps mood swings Popeye - will take a whole load off your shoulders realising it doesn’t matter what you do - just make sure you have plenty of me time with Missy of course Bonnie the lab pup is going to school three days a week - its a small country school the principal approached my DIL thinks all the kids will benefit - she will have her crate - the kids will love her I thought I might plant some strawberries but can’t get any plants anywhere evidently millions of plants have been wiped out - RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 20-07-2023 (20-07-2023, 03:10 PM)JanW Wrote: Terrible happening in Auckland - two innocent construction workers won’t go home to their families tonight - sad to see the perpetrator is so young - Robies staff who had to sleep on site during the cyclone while the two mongrel mob factions fought in the car park over whose territory the supermarket was firing shots into the building -they had no power no communications- two have still not returned to work can’t imagine how bad it’s going to be for the other construction workers on site this morning There was a story on 7 sharp I think it was about Strawberries. Many plants were killed and they wont be easy to get at all. so I dare say the fruit will be even more expensive. Perhaps if you get hold of some fruit Jan you could grow your own plants from the seeds on the outside of the fruit. MrP is being a nerd today. Same old story, everything is my fault they are helping him get a divorce etc etc.. Always the same. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-07-2023 Yes, I have had plants pop up from strawberries I tossed into the garden for one reason or another. They do strike quite well... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 20-07-2023 Well they dont seem to think there is a need for tests. He's just in a mood with me. I said soo his holding water, blisters on his legs and his mood have no link. I said have luck with that and hung up. Ill make sure they understand when he dies from an infection... That I know his ways. Idiots RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-07-2023 Well, lol, that'll solve the signature problem popeye! I have strawberry seeds coming. They take a year or so to get to fruiting sized plants but it should be an interesting exercise seeing I have only ever done it accidently! RE: You can never have enough... - harm_less - 20-07-2023 (20-07-2023, 05:20 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: Well, lol, that'll solve the signature problem popeye!Just be aware that if the seeds you have sprouted were from hybrid plants their 'offspring' are unlikely to mirror the parents. If you get lucky they may be the next great breed of strawberry, or more likely they'll be nondescript mongrels. Either way they'll be "OHH specials" RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 20-07-2023 Fragaria x ananassa and germination tested so we shall see. Even with post 50 seeds came in at less than the cost of a punnet of strawberry seedlings, so definitely worth the fun of a trial! And I am getting better at raising my own seedlings. I may even have another go at the wild weed seeds in the back of the fridge, I lost the last lot to damping off... Purely medicinal, of course. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 21-07-2023 morning ladies It's freezing here and raining, again What a win for our Football Ferns! We were not expecting that lol. Well done, ladies lol lol @ solving the signature problem! Popeye, I wonder if the Citizens Advice can give you any ideas of how to get around that. I had never thought of growing strawberries from seed, will be interested in seeing how yours do, OHH It makes sense of course, as we grow other veg and some fruit from seed, so why not strawberries. This morning I'll blat round and do some housework, it doesn't take long to do. Then I can get on with this hand quilting... Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 21-07-2023 Housework? Hmmmm, I suppose I could do the next couple of shelves in the big kitchen cupboard... Or vacuum. Or, I could just stay here, in the quilts, with my tablet and the new book (it has dragons) and let the damp world out there get on with it without my interference. Decisions, decisions... RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 21-07-2023 Good morning. Overcast, windy and wet. Not that warm either outside. Fantastic end to the day with the Football Ferns win. Damn for throwing out my few years old strawberry plants thinking I would start new this season. Lesson learned. A day for finding things to do indoors. The old feline is already under his woolly blanket where he spends most of his day now. I shall get back to my cross stitch later. Stay warm and dry all. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 21-07-2023 Morning everyone Wet and chilly... But we have decided to have a lazy day.. no sense visiting a grumpy man. So I'm still in my jammies for now lol. Yep it would solve the problem. And I admit to being a person who likes I told You So's. And Im not scared to use it. And when the time comes, Ill be going to get two of his photos and they can have the job of getting rid of his junk. It doesn't belong to me after all. He couldn't even give me a 3 second Im sorry to hear that, about a school friend dying yesterday from a brain Aneurism.. I shouldn't expect it really I guess. Only 58.. and the second friend I have lost to the same thing. She was a tough Nut with a wicked sense of humour. Heaven had better be prepared, she will rock it. She lost her brother a short while ago, this year, so Im glad they are together. Her kids and grandies will miss her tho that's for sure. I brought a bag of smoker Lollie's yesterday.. I haven't seen them for ages and had a bit of a memory about them. Haven't opened them yet. I hope they haven't changed. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 21-07-2023 morning all bright, nippy day here with wind expected later in the day sorry about your friend Popeye. I had a lovely time visiting my friend down south and have had a lazy start to today unpacking and now catching up with emails etc while DH is out walking the K9s. no plans for today we will see what transpires enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 21-07-2023 well... if the book has dragons, then it just has to be read, OHH! My fantasy series doesn't have dragons It could be why I'm skim reading it. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, popeye. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 21-07-2023 That's not fun Popeye - its always hard to lose friends. Ventured out earlier since The body shop had shower gel at half price so got some to put away for xmas gifts, so very successful hunting & progress with Xmas gifts. Freezing out though, although the sun pops out every so often & pretends it's actually warm - if only! RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 21-07-2023 Wake the Dragon, Kevin J Anderson (one of the Dune series writers) a nice fat three book series written in short chapters which makes them easy pick up put down reads, and no thinking required. Not R R Martin level, but good relaxation material... |
