RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 09-08-2023 Afternoon all Really hard frost here this morning nice all be it very nippy day. Took DH to medical appointment this morning then continued to a mall for coffee and window shopping. DH purchased nice jumper and I bought some Duplo which is now hiding bin my office cupboard Bit more quilting this afternoon. Enjoy the day RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-08-2023 (09-08-2023, 09:57 AM)R2x1 Wrote: it's a bad sign when the mowing contractors wear life jackets instead of fluoro. Not as bad as the firemen joining forces when I need my battery sorted. Last time there were three of them. Three! I told them that was excessive, but they insisted they had been forewarned. Uh huh - & you're sticking to that story are you...?? RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-08-2023 Hi All. Have had a lovely day.. MrP was in a good mood, albeit he had only just woken up when I got there. Had a nice visit, put cream on his back and then he sent me away to finish the cake. Had an awesome time with the Gang.. Toasted sammies and then the Cake. OMG it was yummy. No too sweet or too sour. For my first it was blimmin good in my opinion. And the smile on peoples faces was lovely. David who has a partner in the home said he loved it. He made his first a few weeks ago but said mine was nicer. Considering Id never tried one or made one, Im pleased it turned out good. Young Peter has a 1/4 of it for his tea and supper, the rest we gave to the staff.. I didn't want to bring any home. We all signed a card for Him. And Dianne and her Mum got him a bag for his new wheels.. he's been falling so they have him in a wheelchair now. Bobbie couldn't remember what she wanted to tell me, so I must give her a notebook and Pen so she can write things down when she thinks of them The sun is out but still a chilly breeze. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 09-08-2023 Glad your day was a good one Popeye; the notebook sounds a good idea for Bobbie. Freezing here, likely to snow tomorrow they say & I wouldn't be surprised. Not sure how Madame le Dog will cope as not sure if she's ever seen snow before. I may just stop in bed - said she, knowing that's never going to happen. Not with Madame Le Dog on getting human out of bed duty. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-08-2023 I suggest you introduce dog to snow as early as possible, so you can both treat to the blankies with books and remotes and treats. With curtains firmly pulled. It would be uncivilised to do anything else. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-08-2023 morning ladies We've had rain, now the sun 's out... who knows what the day is going to do today. Glad to hear your day went well yesterday, popeye. I picked our first bunch of daffs the other day. They look so cheerful on the kitchen windowsill. The little tete-a-tete daffs are slowly starting to flower too. And the Star of Bethlehem has one flower on it so far. My sister-in-law gave those to me a few autums ago and just as well as she has lost hers in her house move. I'll give her back some when mine have finished. There's something to be said for sharing your garden. The little hebe cuttings don't seem to have taken MrK suggested I 'plant' a branch into the soil without cutting it off the parent plant and see how it goes. That's worked for other plants so I'll give it go. It feels like a good day to concentrate on the placemats. I have two to go then I can bind and finish. Coffees finished, time to get moving happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-08-2023 Morning everyone I remember hour Lab being very wary of snow. MrP arranged for a few inches for our first wedding anniversary.. And poor Harley didn't know quite what it was. he settled down in the end and was happy to "Bite" the snowballs. lol.. Its cool here but I havent been out yet lol. MrP was soo happy when I spoke to him last night. They had given him a bath. First one in Many many years. It would have helped his bones Im sure. No results on his x-rays as yet. Im off for my diabetes eye check.. Thankfully I have never needed to have the eye drops. Cos if they use them Ill be stuck without being able to drive. and I have to go to Pukekohe for the check now. So fingers crossed they dont need to do the drops today. Then shopping and I detest shopping in the afternoon. Im a morning girl and hate leaving things till the afternoon. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 10-08-2023 Morning all Wet and very cold balmy 3.9 degrees Off to do my stint today and it will be freezing 4 layers of merino and my puffer coat - hopefully I can still move my arms Giving my elbow a rest so no knitting again last night, I did finish quilting yesterday so today will trim and sew on the binding that means a quilt in my lap tonight while stitching down the binding Keep warm RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-08-2023 My day is off to a poor start, with a bill from Spark arriving, and me discovering that despite dropping my broadband plan from them they have continued to charge me for a neon subscription I haven't used, by attaching it to my mobile account. Me being somewhat confused over their billing changes didn't notice until the account arrived this morning and boy was I cross. And of course got nowhere with trying to get a credit, just talked over and shut down. Enormously frustrating, but determined now to sort out a different mobile provider before the end of the month. Some days being a boomer in a different world really sucks. I am tempted to pour an early wine, lol, but tea will do. Bastards... Now I shall go do the quiz and try to restart my day on a better note!! Some days being a boomer in a different world really sucks. My technique when faced by some ignorant bastard like that... Very politely ask, "What is the procedure to cancel my account?" Mostly it works and an instant change in attitude. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-08-2023 Did that. Going to 2 degrees soon as I can get to Takapuna with my little Nokia in my hand. I am going to hand it to the young person at the counter and tell them to make it so, lol. Still steaming, but am calming down. That process takes a little longer these days. Bastards. It was absolutely freezing when we ventured out for the walk; I'm starting to think perhaps a balaclava might be an excellent idea; & as an added bonus it would also improve my looks! Not a happy camper; bloody computer updated itself didn't it & I had to find passwords to log in virtually everywhere. And if that wasn't bad enough there seem to be ads popping up everywhere where once there were none. Eldest granddaughter called in earlier & she had a look but not able to help much so will need to send a 'sweetie darling come & help mummy!' message to sweetie darling, poor sod. But they should ahve explained everything to you the first time you called. Remind them that they record their phone calls so they need to find your previous calls and see what was said. RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 10-08-2023 Lilith7 make sure you're still using the same browser you always use, Firefox, Chrome, sounds to me as if you are using Edge M.S. browser which they have probably set up as your default browser after the updates. Do you know which browser you normally use as a starting point? Oh, it is all on messenger, we rarely get to talk to a real person unless we are kicking up a stink as I did this morning. I did consider the telecommunications complaints process, but frankly just don't need the stress. I shall pay up on the last possible day and get a new provider. I am sure they will be devastated to lose my tiny account lol... Bastards. Not a clue - although it used to be firefox & then one fine day, the fiendish computer changed it when it updated itself; I suspect this computer may be possessed as it seems to sometimes be smirking when I strike another little glitch. Naturally though Sweetie darling says that's impossible. Not to worry, he can sort it sooner or later; probably sooner unless he wants to deal with constant whining.
