RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-09-2023 (11-09-2023, 07:55 AM)Roma Wrote: Good morning. Thanks Roma.. no I have 6 more kilos to lose then Ill be at my goal. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 11-09-2023 Morning all Overcast and rain expected today Well done weight loss Popeye. Had lovely day yesterday at quilting class I even started quilting my zebra. Bit more quilting to do though. Doing 2 shifts at warehouse for next 5 weeks so off there soon. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 11-09-2023 Well done on the weight loss, popeye The marigolds are in pots and scattered around the vegie plots MrK didn't want flowers in his vegie patch lol. And the baking is in the oven... I'm on a roll RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 11-09-2023 Last thing this morning I had one of those small but vivid dreams where every detail translates into the real world on waking. It was so wonderful, I really enjoyed it. But when I got up and went to the bathroom still feeling the buzz it had left me with I was very disappointed to see my hair had not turned back into its former glossy chestnut self. It was still white. Dammit. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-09-2023 Oh Bugger Hunni.. Nice while it lasted tho eh. MrP was ok this morning. Going on about just being a number. I said that's right, we are born we get an NHI number, we work we get a Tax Number and when we retire we get a WINZ number... Kinda pleased him when he heard that. Left him some Lolly cake and lemon slice. Had a nice lunch with the Girls and Young Peter. Rest Home David was working. Peters partner Surprised him last night arriving from South Africa. So He was a happy Chappy today with a big smile on his face. Sent them all to their rooms with more slices for later lol. My Stepfather always had.. Scuse his Language "Catpiss": Marigolds around the vege gardens. Said they helped bring the Bees. Lol... There's quite a patch outside MrP's room flowering. but directly under his window are some lilies coming up I think. So I have to be careful where I walk to top up the bird seed container. Got home to Madam sitting watching the bird eating out on mine, behind the curtain. Time for my games now. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 11-09-2023 Well done Popeye. Been out all morning with eldest granddaughter, we went to see third eldest granddaughter. She's on maternity leave as their first baby is due this month; she may have to have a caesarean as he's lying breech but with foot first. Its her birthdsy on Saturday so she has her fingers crossed it won't be then. I have marigolds in the garden, they're extremely good at keeping something or other (can't remember what!) away from tomatoes so I just let them have pretty much free rein out there. RE: You can never have enough... - Olive - 11-09-2023 Marigold petals are edible too. I use them in various Thai dishes as a garnish, and sometimes in other salady things. Either fresh (very pretty but not much flavour) or dried (not so brightly coloured but with a lovely scent similar to coriander seeds). RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 11-09-2023 Good for dye too... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-09-2023 morning ladies A real pea souper out there this morning Dye? Did someone say marigolds are good for dye? oohhhh must give that a go. I love dying my own wool and prefer it to be plant based if possible. My lilies are up as well, once they poke through the soil they are pretty quick at growing. I'm not sure what we are doing today, will be winging it I think happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 12-09-2023 Morning all Sunny day after a stormy night OHH you have earned every single one of your white hairs reflects your knowledge of life and wisdom. DH has dentist appointment this morning so need to drive him to that. Might take k9s for walk botanical Gardens while waiting for him Got quilting to do so that might be my afternoon activity Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-09-2023 Morning everyone Its a stunner here.. Yay.. Im starting to worry about my liking of the sun lol. Most unusual for me. But sun and Cool is good lol. My only plans today is to put my clothes away. been very lax and since I dont use my bed, and it has become a dumping spot. I have another coat-hanger to cover and then Ill knit. Colleen at the home has joined back in with the knitters. Her hands were starting to ache after a 2ish year break. They are knitting blankets, but in strips to be sewn together rather than oodles of squares. They have it on Tuesdays, Ive wanted to join in ever since MrP went in. but I need my day off more. So Next week I will take my knitting along with me to knit while we talk. Bobbie wants me to be her , forgotten the word lol. Look after her affairs medically and financially. Puts me in a bit of a spot. Cos I know the manager wont like it. She has plenty of money to make it happen. But there's also my future to think about too. She may be 88 but other than her feet she is very fit and well. I have no doubt that it will be her dementia that will end her life. I might ring family support and talk to someone about it. Power of Attorney. And I quite agree re the white hair.. Personally I love it.. I wont be dying mine again now. It has grown since the cut last year which is great.. A thick mop is what Id love tho. Have a fab day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-09-2023 Enduring power of attorney I think it is, popeye. And it's quite a responsibility. There will be things to think about like what will happen if you move? I'm not dying my hair either. The grey is slowly coming through and my hairdresser suggested I 'show it off' with ringlets and I must admit, I loved it. I've earned every grey bit! It's silly but when I see young women dying their hair grey, I think, you didn't earn that grey! My grandmother went snow white, she looked stunning. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-09-2023 I don't know ladies. That dream made me realise just how much I liked my nut brown hair and just how deep I buried my secret resentment at losing it in my thirties. I think it was that Superaging doco where they covered research that proved stress whitens hair, the way it happened to me. But then they said it could be reversed and obviously my subconscious mind grabbed that idea and ran with it. Silly monkey mind, lol. The other thing that I enjoyed about that doco is the way scientists so often do all this research and testing to prove something we already know is true, through our hard won wisdom! There will be things to think about like what will happen if you move? Exactly Kiwimade. It would once again put my life on hold. And I have earnt my future. I cannot keep putting myself last or Ill end up being old and never done anything for myself. Well never done much. Went to Aussie but that soon changed. I think Ill just not mention it again, and kinda hope that Bobbie doesn't remember either. It was a bit of a shock when she brought it up. She was Good yesterday. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-09-2023 I have done the EPOA thing twice now and really hope to never have to do that again. When I asked my friend to be mine I warned her it was a shit job but promised to make it as easy as I could by writing everything down, including passwords and account numbers, having no debt, a sensible funeral insurance plan, and keeping all arrangements clear and simple. With luck that will help. Gosh, having to agree with you again is getting to be a habit.... Ok, as long as it doesn't become a dirty habit Son, here in our area has EPOA on day to day matters, with daughter from Cairns having say when required. (A Proviso? on consultation with her on big things outside the boundaries set out by lawyer) Ours will be pretty easy. Funeral wants written into wills, and ashes Memorial wall storage prepaid. The rest will sort itself out with the lawyer. One thing to do is all the details required for death cert etc. We have a couple f forms we got a week ago that we must fill out with all the necessaries. Always told my two kids that the first line in our wills said "Being of sound mind, We spent the last $5 yesterday" RE: You can never have enough... - R2x1 - 12-09-2023 My main aim for end of life is to have at least 3 bank managers crying at the funeral. RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-09-2023 LOL R2x1 RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-09-2023 Had a good talk to MrP this morning. He was most lucid. Ive decided for now, to not bring it up with Bobbie again. And just to keep delaying it, if she brings it up again. MrP said we have always looked after others and its time to do what I want to do. Very odd to hear that from him. But I agree. Thankfully they had already made her an appointment for her feet for tomorrow so Yay I was pleased with that. Clothes hung, heavy jacket washed, another load washing. One coat-hanger finished.. Im going to do some for a Christmas present now. For a knitter who can hang things on decent padded hangers not thin ones leaving lines. There must be loads of things which can be used for dyeing, I vaguely remember reading somewhere that some lichens are not bad for dyeing. Did a bit of digging compost into garden earlier & decided to plant a few runner beans, possibly a bit early but then you never know your luck.
