Oh boy!

Fortunately not too far from a mechanic, who sorted it for me. He's getting afternoon tea on me next week when I go pay the bill!

That was so lucky, well done that bloke.

I had a visit from youngest great grandson (who managed to stay awake this time) & his Mum, who took a photo of me holding his gorgeousness...or so I thought.
But no,once she was safely home the sneaky little toad sent me a copy of the 'photo' - which turned out to be film of me talking nonsense to him while he was sitting on my knee.

Mind you, the kid was looking intently at the mad old bat holding him, so he looked good - I keep telling them to put him to work as a baby model, he'll make his fortune! Rolleyes Big Grin

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 11-01-2024

Good morning.

Overcast and already hot ... in for more of the same.

Trip to Hamilton yesterday eventful with DH needing back neurosurgery ... at least now has answers but a lot of information to digest and process.

KM that Karapiro Road is a terrible journey now ... one lane stop/go all the way through, southbound traffic diverted through that country road. A million cones and not a skerek of (obvious) road work happening yet, as we waited to come across 'something' happening! We came home via Morrinsville which would have been just as quick. Not looking forward to when the road works actually start and we will be needing to come through regularly Angry

Food shopping today plus some jobs to do while out.

Have a good day all.

morning ladies Smile Lawns are all mowed but boy, that humidity snuck up on me.

Glad you got your tyre sorted, OHH. Lovely man!

lmao Lilith, they got you good! I hope you have some sort of 'revenge' planned Tongue

yeah, roma, the Karapiro stretch will be closed for a week and traffic is diverted via Toatoaroa Rd. I don't mind the diversion as I know the road, but it is frustrating when you get behind a full milk tanker which can only do 40kph over the bends. It's only for a week though. The roundabout will be different as they will be starting in the paddock first and working their way out to the roads. We'll still be using SH29 as is for now. But it will be worth any inconvenience if it means a safer intersection. There is a FB page dedicated to the Waikato/BoP traffic and lots of chat about SH29 with roading and traffic updates.

Time to move the hose, the dahlias along the garage have had a good drink and it's time to share the love around the garden.

happy crafting Smile

That explains all the activity out in the paddock! Interesting they will start from there outwards. Yea realise there has to be short term pain for long term gain. Just need to make sure PLENTY of time factored in for appointment times meanwhile.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 11-01-2024

yeah, and now Waikato Hosp is saying to come early as parking is going to be tricky thanks to work being done up there. It's going to be a marathon to get to Hamilton shortly.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-01-2024

Road works are always happening at this time of Year. They have to spend their money before the end of the financial year to be able to get the next lot.

There's a big detour here too on the Auckland to Waiuku road. Only 3 days apparently but what is annoying people is there are no Detour signs, which is fine for Locals they know where they are going, but those who dont know the roads are struggling.

Rang the Drs this morning again to see about the new strain of Covid. Yes I do need a booster, and I want it fast so if I get the reaction again it will be done and dusted before my surgery. So Im seeing my Dr on Tuesday, hopefully he can give me a script for antibiotics then Ill only use it if I have a flare up. This will be my 6th shot lol.. But I havent had covid so all good lol

Interesting you say that, KM...it did cross my mind to nick a photo of his gorgeousness & send it to various modelling agencies.

But then I realised granddaughter just might kill me - & I'm too young to die... Rolleyes Big Grin Big Grin

SO hot here 24 now so very glad I did back lawn early before it got too hot to do. No way in hell I'm cooking tonight, tomato sandwich followed by ice cream I think.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-01-2024

Was 29 in the middle of our house, out of the sun.. 26 at my Friends place in Tga and 31 in CHCH at another friends place.

Missy is the wise one, she is sitting between the two doors shooting the breeze lol.

Courier came but he was walking away, I called out and said Come back here. Told him off and explained why some people use a courier, so they dont have to go to a shop when they cant walk properly etc. He said I am new, I said I know, you want to listen to your customers or you wont be working for long. He wasn't a kiwi lol.

MrP is wheezing, so I think he will be off to Middlemore for a pike in the tummy again.

My order from temu arrived. 1 week which is faster than domestic couriers lol.. Have to check my order tho cos there is something that I have no idea what the heck it is lol. Just need to make sure they put "leave at front Door" on the lable.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-01-2024

Morning everyone

Another warm night. Look's very grey out, so its bound to get humid and wet I think.

I figured out what the mystery item is. Ill take photos and show you over the weekend. It will be another talking point to show the girls at CHT. And this one might beat them lol.

Glad Im seeing the Dr on Tuesday, we need to figure out something extra for my Sinus. The oral meds help but dont stop my sinuses blocking up. Used the spray for 2 days and had a massive bleed this morning. Might have to get a Netti potti for a wash out perhaps.

Visiting today. Wish I could say its nice to do nothing, but the sitting hurts lol..

Once I've done a little housework tomorrow Im going to see what fabric I have to make some more pilatzo pants. Ill have to cut a pattern off the ones I've had for well over 20 years first. I never wore them for years lol.. Now thankfully they wash and dry in a day but I want some more. So easy to wear. I do have some pink broderie Anglaze that might work but also might make me look like the back end of a bus .

Have a fab day everyone

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-01-2024

morning ladies Smile Another stunning sunrise this morning and another hot day expected.

I have a guy coming today to pick the last surfcaster up. Once the surfcasters have gone, I'll list the boat rods and reels. I knew we had some fishing gear but omg lol, didn't realise we had this much. One of the sales was to a guy MrK worked with years ago. Was lovely for them to catch up Smile And I've just sold a tackle box lol. People have no qualms about texting early on FB marketplace.

Popeye, I use Flixinase and chemist eye drops to keep my hayfever under control. I've found the oral medications either don't work or only work for a limited time. The nasal spray takes a little while to kick in, so I start early in the season. It works really well for me thank goodness.

Housework today and then I'll see what happens for the rest of the day. There will be a trip into town to pick up the Furry One's meds though.

Happy crafting Smile

Yeah the nasal spray works well for me but they also cause blood noses for some reason. So we have to figure out something. I take two oral meds and clearly this season at least they're not doing the job. So ill make the most of the appointment and figure out what we can do. The pollen is nasty this year.

There is a tree next door which I think is a wattle, its in full bloom. They dont use sprays or anything and their gardens are worse than mine. Very lazy people. The only time the gardens look good is when one of their mothers comes to stay lol.

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-01-2024

popeye333 try Lorafix tablets for Hay Fever, they're what I use and work very well as long as you take them consistently everyday.

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 12-01-2024

Popeye I meant to say in my post I have a friend who got nose bleeds after using nasal spray turned out that she wasnt using it correctly it didnt contain steroids . Though some ingredients can be implicated - you might have a wee ulceration.
Frustrating when you need relief NOW.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-01-2024

It is interesting seeing how different medical practices can be. My new one has gone over my records and made several suggestions and requested different tests to confirm or change past diagnoses. Seems to me the previous practice was inclined to just react to immediate concerns rather than look after the broader picture. But then maybe they just knew I was healthy, despite being short, round, and aged.

Anyway, it is comforting to be told this morning that I have just a 7% chance of cardiovascular issues in the next five years. And on that basis I'm rewarding myself with cheese and crackers for lunch. And a fluffy coffee...

And maybe a bit of gardening this afternoon. The tomatoes are colouring up, there are beans to pick and beetroot to cook. Life is good.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-01-2024

It certainly pays to have a change in doctors Smile MrK is really happy with our new one. She is very thorough, patient with his questions, direct, and honest. And she's onto all this stuff that is happening to him. She also ran a battery of tests when he changed to her Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-01-2024

Zqwerty I already take 2 oral meds everyday, 365 days a year.. Im seeing my GP on Tuesday so will ask him what other options there are.

Well its been an interesting day. Mr.P was in a good mood, we were busy laughing about something and he sort of twisted, sat up and his face all screwed up. Called for help and we got him laid down. His breathing was more like the Chain Stoking that you sometimes do before you die. He would squeeze my hand when I asked.

They called for the Dr. , she is Super Busy and then about 30 minutes later he came out of it. Asked him to do the F.A.S.T test. His face returned to normal and I asked him to poke his tongue out.. Full on just like normal. he was tired, said his chest ached. So the dr was seeing him about now, and they will ring me.. he got grumpy and told me to go,, probably just tired. But he ate a banana I took in, then I rang when I got home, he was asleep. Had eatensome lollies and went to sleep lol..

I tell you he has 21 lives.. You wouldn't know anything happened. But 2 nurses saw him so I know I didn't dream it.

Went to CHT and after telling Bobbie we returned to normal. She was good today actually. And they all loved the vase but all think its strange to have can be Microwaved on it. Colleens Daughter suggested it was a part of a dinner set range that would all have the same message on the bottom. We agreed.

After RH David left Dianne was telling me that Irene isn't asleep when she looks it at the table. She makes it look like she is so RH David stops trying to encourage her to eat lol...She has an awesome eating habit... 93 in May and still really with it lol... Rh David has no idea how to deal with women lol. So we were having a good laugh.. Including Bobbie lol.

So now I will wait to hear from the Dr.

29 here again so I've decided to have a late tea while the cricket is on tonight

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-01-2024

28 in my lounge right now. Mussel fritters waiting to be made when it cools down, to go with the salad, and I will eat outside where the breeze is. After watering...

Watching The Last Samurai, it was a good movie. Stays the distance...
