RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-03-2024 After an interesting week I think a leisurely start is called for, and maybe even a leisurely all day effort, lol. Except the sky out there looks rather nice, I might put the sun umbrella up, and take my book and umpteen cuppas out there to enjoy the Autumn day... Except, I hear the gardening team have just arrived. There goes the peace and quiet! RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 08-03-2024 morning ladies It started off overcast but then the fog came down. It isn't stopping the guys from taking the tree down though They couldn't believe how the lawn and garden had changed lol. The leader line is over the tree so they can pull their ropes up behind them and now it's all go. And the Furry One is not happy he has to stay indoors while the guys are here. The main gates are open, and we know he would do a runner onto the highway as well as get in the way. Much safer for him indoors. There are plenty of windows where he can see what's happening so he will be fine even if he is a tad miffed. MrK will mollify him by taking him for a ride in the car later. He's a tad spoilt lol. Righto, time to take some pics Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 08-03-2024 The tree is down and the jasmine is out. The jasmine was a bonus lol. We need another tree downed and the jasmine needed to be cut out first. The jasmine has climbed the tree, and it is terrible stuff to cut with milky, sticky residue that sticks to your gear. So, it needs to be dead before the guys can cut the tree down. We've just had a call from Genesis checking it is our property that is having the switchboard being moved. It's all go now RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 08-03-2024 Back from lovely lunch Bit of firewood there KM. Want to sandwich a quilt today but have a heap of paper to read for meeting at 5.30 tonight. Very inconvenient time and day but needs must I suppose. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-03-2024 International Women's Day today, I do enjoy your company ladies. It is a rare day that I miss coming here to share my day with you all. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 08-03-2024 Likewise,Hunni. That's a lot of tree KM. Managed a bit more on sheet/wall hanging painting thing & a bit of weeding around the smallest pumpkin plant; those bloody marigolds were surrounding it so hope I was in time to rescue it & it recovers enough toi produce a pumpkin, two others are doing well out there but hoping this will too because by the time its ready the others will be long gone. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-03-2024 Finally home and Im pooped lol.. Oops that's impolite lol I got there early, but was entertained by a Huge Crane operating on a new part of the building. When I was up there late last year they were only doing the groundwork. Now there are the concrete frames 3 levels High I think it is. Cos I was early the lady started things early. So bloods, x-rays, ecg, and I was out just before 11am. Over to the Breast Screening and was out of there by 11-20am. My appointment time was 12-15 lol. Its a total knee replacement and... 21st of March.. Yayayayay, but I have to go in the day before of course and do my bridging. Waiting for the Dr to phone to confirm the bridging etc. Wow she was a big tree Kiwimade... Do you still have a fire or is MrK saving some for turning? I too enjoy the female company here. For some reason a couple of my friends are well um strange, I can have adult conversations with you ladies lol. And I love a giggle. I think Ill be having a quiet weekend. I must contact the property manager and see if they want to do the inspection late next week. Then I dont have to worry after my opp. Will double check my hospital bag over the weekend too, incase I've missed anything and the lady gave me some of their medicated foam wash thingees, cos I said I hadn't used them last Opp and Im sure it was why it turned to custard. Right time to tell the peeps on FB.. Time is going to fly hopefully RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 08-03-2024 That's great news, popeye it's been a long time coming. Our nieghbour is coming with his tractor to take the tree bits away as we no longer have a fire. He does so it will be used. I too enjoy your company and can only imagine the mischief we could get into if we all met RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-03-2024 Oh excellent news popeye! And don't overpack! These days if we are anything like half competent we get sent home as early as possible, the system is under so much pressure, they need the beds, lol. And be good, use those sponges. Infection is the last thing you need after that op - it is a challenging one. Oh I am so pleased for you. It will all be over by Easter! Woo hoo! Infection is the last thing you need after that op - it is a challenging one. Thanks Hunnie and Kiwimade.. I got my easter eggs today lol... I thought I might miss out since I may not be driving lol.. Once my warfarin INR test is normal they will send me home.. I just told my twin brother its time he felt might pain this time lol.... he didnt seem to think that was fair lol... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-03-2024 morning ladies We have a foggy start to the day, suits me fine as I will be cutting up some branches that fell onto the neighbour's property. The guys pulled it all back for us yesterday and offered to cut it up, but the new hand saw can deal to them in quick smart time. I had a bit of a woe-is-me moment last evening. Everything just felt overwhelming, and I needed a bit of a cry. All good today though. Yesterday one of the arborists showed me some photos of a tree that had fallen exactly the same as ours. It landed close to the house the same way ours did and did exactly the same damage. Hopefully they have insurance because they are in for a shock at the repair costs. And I really, really hope, they don't end up with the loss adjuster we did. Yesterday afternoon I stitched a bit more. Not a lot was done but hey, all goes towards the finished product. The Furry One has learned he can't sit on my lap while I'm stitching but he can snuggle up. Time to get moving, it will be good to make the most of the co0l start to the day. happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-03-2024 Morning everyone Its grey here, not wet yet tho. Im not surprised you had a wee woe is me moment Kiwimade. Its been alot to cope with and so out of the blue. If you were planning on taking the tree out it would have been alot smoother process, and no nasty people to deal with as well. My mission for the weekend is to finish sorting the sewing room. Cos its a mess. Not sure if Ill manage to get the dining suite sold before I go in, but that's ok. But I want to get the inspection done if I can. And hopefully close to me going in, then at least there wont be a mess to come home to. Need to pop up the road too, didn't think to get bread. I dont eat alot but I take a sandwich when I go to visit the girls. And Ill see if I can get some chocolate raisins for Peter. Cos I forgot those yesterday too. I didn't have them on the list, and I only went where I needed to do. I was very slow by then lol Have a fab day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 09-03-2024 Fine day bit of a breeze Wonderful news Popeye. Our k9s are good and keeping us company while stitching KM You ladies are great company and I agree we could be dangerous if we ever meet up Got the 2 quilts sandwiched up and will start quilting today DH is over at DD house this weekend to babysit their big k9. He will be home for dinner and go back to sleep over there . Did a bit of knitting last night and so far my thumb is holding up. I am trying to be good and take rests rather than sitting clicking the needles all night. Only a front and 2 sleeves to go the alpaca yarn is beautifully soft and light. A bit 9f laundry to sort and sheets to hang out and then the day is all mine Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-03-2024 I didn't realise so many branches had fallen next door as we don't see that part of their paddock. They are all cut up and I have two piles, one for the rubbish and the other for firewood for our other neighbour if he wants it. If not, then I'll advertise it free to a good home on our local community page. The neighbour taking the big trunks said the trunks and what he has already taken has been enough. The little chain hand saw was worth every cent, and we are so glad we bought it. Time for a cuppa before we pick my friend's trailer up. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-03-2024 Let it be Said.. Im not being sexist, but Im Being Sexist lol. Why is it that Men fail to open their eyes when trying to find something.? I went into New World, had previously told David where to find the chocolate and yoghurt covered raisins .. AND Of course I found them but he didn't. lol I've told him too lol.. I bet he had his back to them, looking at the Lollie's rather than the fruits and nuts lol. Have decided to not push myself and I kinda feel hung over from yesterdays effort. So Im watching the cricket and resting the bones. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-03-2024 And I have another pot of crab apples simmering on the stove. Might have enough for two jars this time! The perfume of apples is filling the flat... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-03-2024 (09-03-2024, 01:44 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: And I have another pot of crab apples simmering on the stove. Might have enough for two jars this time! The perfume of apples is filling the flat... Ohh yumm... I often wonder how big the two were that were growing on the new tree planted at the Home MrP was in. I love the smell of almost every fruit / jam boiling, but Crabtree apples would be my fave. Had enough rest. Need to do something so Ill venture into the sewing room RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-03-2024 morning ladies Another stunning day before us today. We have decided another tree has to go, it is too close to the house, and we do not want a repeat of what has happened. It means saving more as we have had a rather expensive 12 months or so. But in the meantime, we can prepare for this one by moving plants and taking out the jasmine (tick that one off lol). I've been saying to MrK for years this one has to either be cut back or down. The arborist said it would be better out so out it goes. It turns out the tree that fell over had a massive root circling around the main roots and was effectively, strangling itself. Didn't know trees did that. Today I'll move the smaller branches closer to the gate for a neighbour and get rid of the twiggy bits. Then it will up to our other neighbour to come and take the pieces of trunk. Once those big pieces are gone, the arborist will come in with the grinder. Almost there! Once again yesterday, the Furry One was not getting out of the car while we had the trailer hooked up lol. He was determined to go with us lol. He's so funny when we have a trailer. Sounds like our neighbour is coming this morning with his tractor. MrK was just talking with him on the phone. I can feel the stress leaving me already. happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 10-03-2024 Morning all Mor ing cloud but fine day expected. You will be relieved when everything is cleared KM Another slow start for me the k9s and I have benn ticked up in bed since their 6am breakfast. I have been reading. Must move soon. Got the bigger crumb quilt quilted yesterday will put binding n today and start quilting the 2nd one. I suspect DD will call around later this afternoon. Made sticky sesame cauliflower last night to go with chicken it was yummy. Enjoy your day |
