Is there a alternative to ccleaner been using for years of and on, but the latest version looks some what bloated to my liking.

Time for a change any suggestions?

Theres Bleachbit  https://www.bleachbit.org/   But be careful its a lot more powerful than Ccleaner, like any of these programs use at your own risk.

anything Avast owns just becomes a naggy bloated marketing machine nowadays

I keep the installer of an older version of it for when I need it and disable the automatic cleaning and updating...

Aavast ruined Ccleaner, bleachbit is good but Ccleaner had some good features.
Windirstat is a good tool for locating junk on your computer, but advised you only use it if you know what you are doing.
Its a tool to tell you what files take up the most space on your drive, its up to you to check if they are important.
