Extra USB Ports
#1
I need to add some rear USB ports to my old gaming system.
I need help to select the correct part.
I have studied the manual but are not certain enough.
The motherboard is: Asus Tuf Gaming Z490-Plus (Wifi)
Four ports would be desirable but two would suffice.
I am already using the front panel connector.

Thanks

any of these will do what you want.

with usb2 you used to be able to get a pci slot plate with usb ports that connect by cable to a spare usb header on the motherboard, which your board does have, but I cannot see any pf that variety available for usb3

As another option a simple USB Hub will do the job

that one is the usb2 version I mentioned, and would work assuming you have a spare usb2 header on the motherboard.

A usb3 equivalent of that would do the same thing (although usb3 is much faster) but I haven't seen any product of that variety for usb3 - not saying they don't exist though, it is possible... USB3 has a different mobo connector...

Cards are what I would use, ( the motherboard has the slot. ) BUT remember the front ports are likely already connected to the Board, and there's only 1 header.
Upgrades = Old bugs replaced with new Bugs.

If it was me I would be adding a PCI-E USB card which should give you some high speed 10GB USB3.2/gen2 ports if you pick the right one.
