General Knowledge.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Bad idea feeding cows' milk to cats anyway as they're commonly lactose intolerant.

Yes its very bad advice to give cats milk.
Jackson Galaxy has plenty of content on the subject!

Oh. Oh dear.

Would anyone like to volunteer to inform Madame Le Cat about this, on account of me being too young to die... Rolleyes Big Grin Big Grin

This is what my friend gets for her cat, Lilith7, expensive but her cat loves it:

It's often on special at about a $1 off for the bigger bottle.

Old water. I leave a deep pottery dish on the deck and top it up occasionally. All the cats seem to love it once it gets a touch murky with the odd bug floating in it. A bit of protein to go with the hydrating. No milk or substitutes in this house, just house water that rarely gets touched, wet food, and the deck dish.

Which I think is so old it might actually be worth more than the cat.

Ha! I knew it!
I told her Madameship as much this morning, when I told her the awful truth, that I was cutting off her milk supply due to cats being lactose intolerant & that I was certain there'd be an alternative which would of course be eyewateringly expensive, & which I would definitely not be buying.

She turned up her nose at the water I offered instead & is now somewhere outside spreading the word about her mean, evil human.

I wouldn't give your cat no milk at all, just a bit would be fine of ordinary milk. They need the calcium I'm sure.

This article covers off the calcium requirements and sources for cats. So long as they're eating a balanced diet (meat, fish, organs) they're probably getting their fair ration of Ca.

From my observations our older cat regularly brings in and consumes critters including entire litters of rabbits at times (over the course of many days) and the entirety of her consumption is impressive. First pickings are the head and chest cavity as she seems instinctually to know where the highest energy and mineral content bits are. Typically by the end of her two day feast an ear or two, a gall bladder, bowel and the back feet are all that's left. The bones and skin are all consumed which must provide plenty of calcium, and roughage.

Cat number two however turns her nose up at anything that isn't minced and fresh. We have a raw pet food supplier that has a range of beef, horse, veal, chicken, possum and organ mix frozen products. The raw exception is their bedtime snack of cat pellets (Science Diet).

They also both help themselves to a water bowl or rainwater from collection points outside.

Yes but cats in the city don't have much to catch to fulfill calcium requirements.

https://www.hungrypet.co.nz/pet-food-delivery/ Our cats' favourite is 'Dog's Dinner'. And even with delivery added (for a reasonable sized order) it's cheaper than Jimbos.
