Douglas is probably heavily invested in the stock market and not getting the returns he expected, hence the criticism.

It's a dog eat dog world when all you're doing is scrabbling for money.

I thought we were supposed to be turning consumption of fossil fuels down and settling back into a more graceful lifestyle to try to combat global warming.

The other alternative is they know it's too late for that and they're all (Peter Thiel etc) going for broke and setting up hidey holes before the rot really sets in with a buffer zone of ordinary NZ'ers to tend to their needs into the future.

Yeah...my heart bleeds for Douglas - poor him,just not getting as much as he expected. Rolleyes   Dodgy

And they might do well to keep in mind that those hidey holes will almost certainly be known to a good few people...
