MFA
#1
I've received emails for both of our Trade Me accounts today announcing TM's introduction of a Multi factor authentification system. I'm wary of following the links through to this on TM's website as I fear that it will be a path of no return and I'm not interested in complicating my sign in procedure if I can avoid it.

I know many financial websites are bringing in MFA now but to be honest TM is just not worth the effort of phaffing around with text codes or whatever alternative ID procedure they have dreamed up, and the chances of it being bug free from the outset is not great based on their recent functionality overall.

Interested to see what hoops members are pressured to jump through and how seamlessly it goes. My hopes aren't high in either regard Rolleyes

dont get me started on that!

Saw that, deleted the email. If my bank doesn't require this, why should I indulge that lot...

I ignored it...
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

In logging into one of our Trade Me accounts a couple of days back I was met with a 6 digit authentication code which was duly emailed to the address I use with that account. So MFA is now a thing for TM. I haven't followed through on the links mentioned in my OP so this is likely to roll out for everyone I guess.

Doesn't seem to be a regular thing as I've hopped back and forward between my accounts since that experience without being requested to do MFA so again. FYI I am shifting between my accounts because I have a personal item (a solar inverter) listed that I don't want to impact on our business account's fees and payments.

haven't seen that yet with TM, but I do seem to struggle to stay logged in to trademe for more than a few hours, and then you can't log in for love or money. Come back to it a few hours later and magically back to normal...
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.
