TM changes
#1
The escape hatch button has been moved to the bottom RH side for 'log out'

watched listings seem to just vanish

The TM team keeps making changes for no reason but why?

oh well.....

If they keep mucking things about, then they'll lose punters sooner or later.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

If I log on it opens at a very ancient listing of mine, that didn't sell that time round. Annoying. But TM these days is annoying.

I made a listing last night, and noticed they have changed the default Ping to an opt in so that is adefinite improvement in my books. The opt out was just plain sneaky. Be interesting to monitor this listing, I have the impression the buyer market has crashed, so we'll see if I get any interest.

I sold a couple of cameras recently - they weren't priced very high, and I only got one bid on each, so I think you're right about buyers, Hunni - wallets are closed at the moment.
I do have other cameras!

And the good thing about that is I get to win more, lol... Most recently a gorgeous book I have wanted for ages, offered back to me ten bucks under her list price, absolute score. Amazon have it for USD63, plus shipping so I'm delighted. Specially seeing I'm going to rip it to pieces and remake it lol...

Losing buyers has definite advantages!

Post mislaid a parcel to me and I emailed the seller about it with no respobse. So I posted neutral f/bk to get her attention, which worked. Lobg story short the parcel turned up and I tried to edit the feedback. The only way now is via desktop, but when I changed to desktop from mobile, that listing disappeared from my won items...

Weirdness. So I posted on community and asked staff to edit the feedback for me, and sure enough on the following Monday they emailed me to confirm and did it toot sweet.

But that doesn't solve the problem.

The new bits on the system make operating too hard. I will be very careful about future purchases, it is not as safe as it used to be. I don't blame farcebook, I think it's Temu. And I think not just TM will lose, our economy will suffer too as a result of the way every man and his wife is buying up the cheap stuff on Temu. It reminds me of the way The Warehouse killed local small business. I suspect Temu will kill the big boxes, in its turn.

Pity, because most of it is complete crap and just ends up in landfill. But hey, plastic clothes are cheap, and when they fall apart we can just buy more. We are getting the future we deserve.

I had an item on watch list.
The bidding was rising but when I went to the listing the bids were back to previous bids and the time was frozen. I tried again, same result. This is not the first time.

whoever TM hired to stuff things up is doin'it right

Yup. I had one of those glitches. Lost the auction as a result. Complained, but TM denied it happened.

Oh well, obviously not meant to win that one...

Trade Me has turned into a complete clusterf*ck. Functionality is all over the place or just non-existent. We've got over 2,000 trades over 2 accounts there and I'm really struggling to make any sense of the way it works now.

Completed purchase yesterday with nothing showing in the Items I've Won and no way to provide the seller our delivery address through TM. The Purchase confirmation had a "no reply" email return path so contacted the seller directly for bank account details and provided them with our delivery address.

24 hours on there is still no Won Items showing and several other items I watchlisted and missed out on have also disappeared rather than bein in our Items I've Lost list.

If I'm struggling to navigate the TM platform then a newbie won't stand a chance in doing so. No wonder TM is hemorrhaging sales to Facebook and other online platforms. I avoid FB like the plague so no way I'm considering making the move.

Just been contacted by a delinquent buyer today on a sale we made a couple of weeks ago and have already been refunded the success fee from TM on that one but really got to wonder how much of that is actually down to TM's clunky functionality.

Had a sale today to a new bidder, but post auction couldn't check the bidder's feedback out on the mobile site because the bidding history didn't stay up. Fortunately the desktop site still had it, but honestly, the place is not being improved.

The delinquent buyer I mentioned above was a newbie, and now has a -1 feedback rating due to her failure to make contact or even respond to our emails, pay or respond to TM's comm's after I requested cancellation of the sale. And she can't claim that she didn't get our emails as she opened the first one ~2.5 hours after it was sent, but ignored all others after that.

I've not had anything wrong with my watchlist, but unsold items go messy for me sometimes (been doing it for a LONG time before they even made the changes) things disappearing, or you delete all unsold and it says there are still 10 unsold items, then check back later and it shows -1 (yes, negative one) unsold items... fixes itself eventually but it's a mess for sure.

Probably not, honestly, some buyers are just absolutely hopeless.

everything I have in my selling list has a status of closing, which it isn't... Is it the same for you

More weirdness. Yesterdays buyer had me perplexed, his feedback was a row of question marks... So I emailed him asking what the problem was, and it seems he actually placed three thumbs up emojis but TMs system can't handle that... So once again I have to explain how to edit feedback. TM should be paying us to sort these stuff ups out.

No wonder their numbers are sliding.
