One term government in the offing?
#1
Well written synopsis of the coalition government's abysmal performance over recent weeks. In my opinion Luxon is too hamstrung by his coalition partners to send this miscreant junior MP to political oblivion as she deserves. Costello's "independent advice" turned out to be no more than a half arsed Google search of documents that supported her 50% excise tax cut on Philip Morris's HTP devices but failed on the relevancy and timeliness fronts. A first year uni student would have been able to do better. But still Luxon maintains his 'spray and walk away' support of her actions.

His political inexperience is showing.

It's going to be a 3 term govt minimum.
No one in this country is stupid enough to go back to the way it was with labour, that would be a recipe for disaster.
They are doing so much good it's not funny things might get worse before they get better but things are looking bright.
We can't afford to have communists running the shitshow we had under labour the greens and the Maori party ever again.

As long as this National government is in power things will just get worse and worse for ordinary people; the National businessmen will organize the enterprises of the country in such a way as to benefit only, and as much as possible, the old boy networks and money grubbers in general.

We've seen it all before, it's the same old story, when will the voters learn not to vote in a National Government????????

It's a game of taking money from the needy and giving it to those who already have more than enough whenever the businessmen are in power run by the National politicians etc ie banks.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

I'm reasonably sure that there are more ordinary people than there are wealthy people; providing everyone votes next time then this govt should be out. They certainly deserve to be, but whoever is next in govt has an extremely difficult job ahead of them; given the behaviour of various govts over the last 40 odd yeasr, there's now one hell of a mess to clean up.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

The storm that is coming will make the worries we have now seem like a sunny day, batten down the hatches for some really rough seas ahead especially since there has been virtually no forward planning and hard choices made and now it's too late.

Humans are notoriously fickle with very short memories - how else do you think National got back in?
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.
