A night at the garden
#1
Trump intends to recreate a piece of political infamy. Dodgy

in 1939 Right wing Christian Nationalist Americans -  20,000 of them - gathered at Madison square gardens in a pro fascist, white supremacy rally. There was a massive portrait of George Washington - who must have been rotating rapidly in his grave - flags & the American national anthem.

This is a short (7minutes) documentary about that gathering.

There was a piece from one of the podcasters yesterday about how Trump always wanted to have a gathering at Madison Square. Bucket list for his ego rather than actual campaigning. The thought being he no longer cares if he wins, because when he doesn't he is going to call out the rioters and create mayhem.

Poor America.

I watched that piece & found myself wondering what happened to that lone protester the bully boys were so gleefully weighing into until 'rescued' by police.

SO glad we don't live there. Not that people everywhere aren't just as capable of the very same stupidity.

I think you're right about Trump; the man seems seriously unbalanced & who knows what he might attempt if he loses. Surely the authorities there must be aware of the possibilities  & have plans in place if the worst happens.

Those two feeble attempts on his life make me wonder how, in such a gun crazy country two people can manage to be such terrible shots.
