Up to 2000 people could lose jobs re school lunche changes
#1
Our delightful govt once again has apparently failed to understand possible consequences of their changes.
75 provider contracts end on Xmas eve & one supplier will have to let go all 47 workers who run the programme. This govt doesn't seem at all bothered by numbers of people put out of work due to their policies - perhaps they've failed to realise that all of those now without work will be among those to have to cope with their harsher welfare conditions.

But then perhaps their aim is to be a one term govt.

In the opinion of one principal, the cuts are intended to 'shut down' the school lunch scheme. Because their supplier, thanks to the cuts, can no longer supply the meals at the mandated budget of $3.50 per student.

I'm really not sure just what kind of person wants to take food from hungry kids...
