Printer - scan - email
#1
Hi all,
I have recently got a printer (multifunction ) and it scans copies etc.

I need to scan and email the scanned item to me
but It says not registered.

Its a brother multifunction and the instructions dont actually explain what to do.  Anyone have a printer that can email  a scanned item ?
Its working on the wifi,  I run it off my tablet.

I dont know what it means about not registered, the only address saved on the printer is my email.
Im presuming im scanning the doc correctly  and not blank papers Rolleyes

To do that using my oldish Brother multi-function printer I first of all scan the document and save it on the desktop, then attach it to an email.

Same strategy worked on our previous multifunction HP and now on our Epson, though the Epson is a bit prone to hissy fits so takes some improvisation at times.

the new brothers can send via brother email servers so you need to register your own email address and it will email the scan directly to yourself - assuming your printer model supports this

Some info here about that process - it should be similar to your printer model?

Why would you need to email it to yourself?

Just use the default scanner software and save it directly to your computer, surely?

a lot of folks prefer to do it that way - it makes it easy if you need to email the scanned document as you can just forward it...

Its meaning your PC has not registered to the scan to PC button on the printer.
I dont bother with those buttons half the time and just use NAPS2, but if you want to use the scan buttons, you need to reinstall the drivers and during the installation it should ask you if you want to register this pc with the scan to PC button.
