Fat lot of difference that's likely to make unless it continues & gains momentum..
The Nats dropped 4.6 points, Labour gained 4.

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/5392...n-new-poll Widen your perspective and analise the numbers by individual parties' advantages.
The numbers are such that if Winston crashes the coalition on DPM handover, plus resurrects the iRex ferry deal that will prove popular and put him in the box seat to be kingmaker for Labour following a snap election. Winston's a sneaky old dog and he's well aware of how best to play his hand to his best advantage. Luxon in contrast is a political numpty who is being played mightily by his co-leaders and who is unlikely to be PM by 2025's end but will be shocked by his sudden redundancy.

Well yes, with any sort of luck Wnston will surely do something along those lines - is it wrong to hope he does, as long as its not too drastic...?

Exactly - although i do rather resent no longer having any choice as to which lot I vote for...

And apparently Jordan Williams (Taxpayers' Union) is attributing the drop in National support to the coalition's "softly softly" approach, implying that austerity measures are not stringent enough. Ha Ha.
And yes, Te Pati Maori is going to have a good year I think. They have the best catchphrase: "We will love you, feed you and house you. No-one will be left behind".

How very interesting that he sees slash & burn as 'softly soflty'...
Although it does remove any possible doubt that he could be in any way moderate, & really says everything about him.
While I love their catchphrase & fully agree with it, I'm inclined to think that practice may well be different to the reality.

Greens and the maori party are the worst possible choices you could ever choose.

Achieved nothing? Did you miss the hikoi? Miss the haka in Parliament that reverberated around the world? Miss the fact that they are back in Parliament at all?
Since when has being an activist a bad thing? It beats the hell out of sitting behind a screen on a couch spreading misinformation and whinging about those who get off their arses in support of the things they truly believe...
As for separatism, look at the demographics. They represent an increasingly significant block of New Zealanders. There are very few kiwis who do not have tangata whenua among their children and grandchildren. And they are waking up. Politicians who ignore that do so at their peril.

I wouldn't get too involved with countering CT. As per his usual form he is behaving like the little brats that throw stones on your roof before running away.
No doubt he'll be back in a few weeks with another pocket full of stones to liven up our lives again.

I think he has me on ignore... Don't take it personally. Probably more a case of only hearing what he wants to hear going by what he posts here.

Gee, these kids know nothing at waitangi, how useless.
Tbats why only uneducated people vote greens and maori.
What have the maori party done for "maori" people let alone you?
No place for race based politics here in NZ.

As soon as someone loses an argument by playing childish games with words they really ought to bow out stage left...
Uneducated eh? Hmmmm, okay, I vote Green, and I have a Masters degree. How do you vote CT and what education do you have? Just out of interest...

People say phrases like that out of humility CT, not because it is intended to be taken literally.
This does tend to highlight the (uneducated) stupidity and ignorance of the people you are getting your info from - you are being fed garbage - in IT circles the matra is Garbage IN, Garbage OUT...
For the record I have a Bachelors degree and I have been known to vote greens in the past
