Beneficiary bashing
#1
From our wonderful govt, frantically pointing to beneficiaries & attempting to claim that virtually everything is entirely their fault - straight out of Ruth Richardson's handbook...
Dodgy
Even this govt should be aware that, when they've cut a large number of jobs there will be people requiring support.

"Is there evidence that these have worked elsewhere?
If they were doing this when unemployment was falling & there were lots of jobs, you can sort of go 'ok, I can see why, how do we encourage people into jobs? But when unemployment is rising & there are fewer & fewer roles, it looks a lot like demonising people who are doing their best."
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I am still glad I live here, and not in Trumpland. What is happening over there leaves our lot in the dust.

Me too - I'm extremely grateful that my ancestors had the good sense to come here. The sooner they rid themselves of that man, the better, & I suspect there'll come a time when virtually no one will want to admit to having voted for him.
