USA; Republicans try to end workplace safety
#1
Blatant disregard for the safety of working people. Unbelievably harsh. This has bee tried previously but now with the orange creature in charge, there's a chance this could pass, which means more workplace accidents or deaths.
They're claiming 'overregulation'....

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Putting workplace safety regulation into the hands of states or employers also raises the question of how robust the system then becomes in the litigious environment of the US. Genuine cases involving workplace injury would now involve yet more layers of bureaucracy to disentangle for compensation to be gained. This seems like a case of removing responsibility and cost away from the state in favour of lower tier organisations in an attempt towards government cost cutting in much the same that '3 Waters' has progressed here.

That seems to be what they're claiming but of course these are not people concerned with the well being of their fellow humans.
