Gemini Advanced. Google One AI Premium plan
#1
Running out of space on my Onedrive so the 2TB storage is looking mighty tempting. Additionally I'm using Gemini daily for all sorts of problem solving and research. Just gotta remember Gemini isn't always right. Rolleyes

Anyone using this plan? Can you give your impression, tips or suggestions.? It's $37/month, just over $1/day. Seems like I'd get value just for the storage convenience. Yes, I take a lot of photos. Blush

Thanks for any thoughts. Open to chat, sharing opinions and ideas.

Don't entrust Google with your lifes work, buy your own hard drives and transfer what is important to personal duplicate backup storage at two or three places off the net and at home/work, bank storage.

Google can use your pictures without acknowledging you, it's in the contract.

Also A.I. apparently makes stupid unexpected mistakes which means you have to check all important output carefully, meaning not as useful as it seems.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

if you use onedrive, maybe a better option is to upgrade to the Family subscription, which you can share with up to 5 family members (or yourself) each with 1TB storage.

I've often thought this could be leveraged for a decent sized storage pool, using a drive pooling software like stablebit or if your comfortable with the command line Rclone can do this as well and present a mapped drive letter...

How well it works out and how easy it is to manage 5 MS accounts and security challenges etc though I couldn't say...
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

Thanks team, some great perspective for thought.

Studying the subject some more, I think I'm better to upgrade Onedrive. It'll also be saving Outlook attachments if I understand it correctly. (Thankfully Outlook is improving with yet another update yesterday.)

Even better is I can do a basic upgrade to 100 GB cloud storage for 10c/day.

Multiple MS accounts would be a pain. I struggle now with multiple accounts. Looked like a good idea at the time.

Re A.I. mistakes. The way I see it, is A.I. is relaying opinions posted by humans and they are not always right. What I like to do is get A.I. to present the spectrum of available opinions, then I can make my mind up. One thought is to simultaneously ask multiple A.I. the same question but I wasn't able to find a way of doing it.
