Minister 'disingenuous' over ICU beds
#1
What, a politician being not entirely truthful??! Rolleyes Big Grin

Its difficult to avoid believing that this delightful govt really wants to change to a private health system, preferably tomorrow.

Simeon Brown claimed that Dunedin hospital was not  losing Intensive care beds, despite govt cutting the nnumbers from 30 to 20, because both the original & new plans have the intention to expand to 4o.
Eventually. Possibly. If Dunedin is really really, good. And really, really lucky.

National Government all about saving money for rich mates, they don't care about poor people, like say, Jacinda did, a wonderful for the people Prime Minister, and she got driven away by idiots probably mostly National morons, and of course those who didn't agree with mandates for vaccinations.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Yes, lots of people sacrificed for others during covid, and saved lives by doing so. It is interesting though how few objected at the time, to making those sacrifices, but in the aftermath a lot seem to have reviewed their position on protecting the vulnerable and keeping our health system from collapse.

I'm just grateful they did, but I do feel really sorry for two friends who were going through cancer treatment during that time, and had to endure the delays and stress of both. One in particular lost a lot of time she might otherwise have had with friends and family because of the lockdowns, and she really felt that grief. Lovely woman, I miss her a lot.

Indeed - & they're so blatant about it now too, very little,if any, attempt to disguise it as something else which will be really, really good. Rolleyes Big Grin
