The Winter Energy payment is scheduled to start on 1 May and continue until 1 October, $63 per fortnight per household. However there have been rumours that in the upcoming Budget it will become means-tested, presumably not this year though.
When Willis was asked specifically about this she evaded the question, so it seems likely that there will be some change announced.

Morning everyone
A mix of skies this morning.
Yeah I wasn't a happy lass yesterday, but decided I cant do anything to change not being told. so I have to move on from it.
Robynn has finally said I can move some stuff in early YAYAYAY.. So Im def in the sewing room today. Its not too bad in there.
I realized I will have a weeks pay with no rent to pay lol.. so Ill be getting a tin of paint.
Oh Hunni that would sounds very yummy. And very cheap..
I've been seeing so many "Izzy" dolls being made on FB.. Basically a one piece but you can change them to how you want. When I finally pick up the needles again Im going to make some... OH and last night I saw beautiful rabbits and Cats,. very realistic looking cats. Blankets and toys have always been my favourites to knit.
Have a fab day everyone
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

I am feeling so chuffed with myself Garden pretty much done until the last of the fuchsias and hydrangeas finish. It made a huge difference throwing the past fortnight's weeds onto our friend's trailer. Am so glad I started earlier in March.
The wool sounds gorgeous, OHH. Maybe she just wanted it gone. It could have been one of those impulse purchases we later regret.
Thanks for the energy payment info. Means tested... hmm... the thin edge of the wedge, I think. They will mean test this and then other bits of the pension will follow. I heard some older folk in the States are very worried. The Orange Clown doesn't give a rats about regular people. Only those who can further his interests count. I was chatting to my friend in Texas yesterday, it sounds like the people are finally twigging to what is happening and are beginning to protest and resist. Better late than never!

That is beautiful. I love mahogany, it is very much my era and I grew up surrounded by it. The embroidery is just so masterful. I spent yesterday overstitching some appliqued Sanderson roses onto my denim vest to soften the political tino flag statement, and until I saw your piece km, I was quite proud of my efforts. Now I tell myself - you must take more care Michele...
But truth is, there aren't enough years left for me to get anywhere near your skill and talent in stitchery, so I better just accept rough and ready is my style, lol.

Both you ladies are sooo clever.. And MrK aint to shabby either. lol.
They are beautiful.
Hunni Rough and ready or in my stepfathers spelling, Ruff and Reddy.. to me is Wonderful.. Who wants something that looks like its been done by a machine.
Ive done the worst in the sewing room. Just need to tidy up the boxes etc in there. And pack the useless printer, I kept the box lol..
Found a box of stuff I had forgotten I had, in it is a pale blue Wind twist I guess you can call it. Its a lot of tiny pieces of timber on a long piece of metal and you twist it to get the twists you want. Its going to look great on my front porch.
Now its just a matter of throwing things in the car and on the truck.
I might go in later to tidy it. but I wont be lifting any boxes about. The Pattern books box was nearly too heavy.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

That looks really good, the flag with those roses is brilliant.

Thank you ladies I love the roses with the flag, and the stitchery enhances it. Nothing 'rough and ready' about it

It is very tactile, and my fingers still hurt from me not using a thimble. That'll learn me, lol...

morning ladies So, where is this rain we have been promised? Huh? Huh?
Thank you, mica
lol OHH, thimbles are a godsend, especially when stitching denim. I need to find a piece of that soft, black, flexi hose big enough to go around my thumb. Cut a piece off and bingo, a thimble that leaves the tip of my thumb free, but my finger protected. I also have a leather thimble but that's a bit more awkward to use.
Once again one of MrK's meds was missed on his script when using Manage My Health which means another trip into town. I had suggested he phone for his scripts but nope, he has to do it this way. His MRI report was there on MMH so he has printed it off to read (seven pages). It's not good reading at all. In a nutshell, his back and right hip is stuffed. We have an appointment in a few weeks time (sigh...) to see the doctor about his next step.
Guilt free stitching for me today!
Happy crafting

Good morning.
Overcast and windy. I don't think there'll be so much rain today .... tomorrow looking promising though. Northland looking to get hit today.
Lovely handwork KM, Mr K and OHH. I always feel inspired with the beautiful pieces shown but currently enjoying having knitting on the needles in the evenings when I have time.
Fairly busy here with GK's to entertain today. Keeping up in the garden for being away on an upcoming child minding mission.
Is it the fault of your pharmacy KM? I've never had problems with MMH. I hope Mr K can find some help now it's known what he's dealing with. Mr R is so lucky to be where he is a year on ... the MRI result the catalyst for surgery and ongoing physio.
Time to move.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning all
Bright overcast
Annoying about meds KM my DH last script was sent to our usual pharmacy and another one some distance from us unfortunately the other one picked it up and didn't have some of DH meds they had 2 week of 3 month supply which is supposed to be released in monthly lots they came to party and gave him the lot. The cause of the clutch was med centre computer upgrade. Inconvenient.
I hope that they can rebuild MrKM to give him some relief
Currently I am in waiting room waiting for my car to be serviced and get a WOF
Going to pass the time reading and have a good cup coffee
Grocery shopping on way home
Enjoy your day

Hip and back sounds awfully familiar km, tell the mr he has my empathy. The latest replacement has helped enormously but I have declined the spinal work with the surgeons giving limited predictions of successful outcomes. I don't need to be worse off, aging will do that without all the fuss'n bother. I do get the right drugs now though, and that is down to having the right diagnostics via mri. We are lucky to have access to that technology.
Looks like a stay at home Wednesday which is a bit of a disappointment, I had plans to take the denim for a scoot and a parade through the village to see what the reaction was, but it'll keep. Probably just as well, my cheese scone indulgence for lunch yesterday set my gallstones off and I need to have a few nana naps to catch up on sleep now that lot have stopped their protest action. Rebellious innards are a pain, literally. But I wasn't alone in my whining last night, the Tatty has upset her back leg again and is nursing it with frequent use of very bad cat language. The vet is pretty sure she has some neurological damage in that limb which limits her ability to control it so it gets strained and inflamed if she does something silly, like behave like the young animal she is. It takes rest to recover, so she is in her cave under my bed feeling sorry for herself till she needs a cuddle.
I know exactly how she feels, lol... This too will pass, furbaby.

Morning everyone
Its only just windy, and very light rain soo far.
So long as it is fine at some stage the lawns will hopefully be done before Wednesday.
Backs, hips and knees are a pain for most people.. I know 3 who that have had their spines fused and none of them say they bring any relief.
Im trying not to use stronger pain meds, mainly cos of the restrictions coming in with drug testing drivers. Its going to keep honest people off the roads thats for sure. Cos we will be too sore to drive anyway.
My wardrobe boxes are at Jess's house 2 doors away.. she will bring them up between the showers. found out after Id left a not so sweet message with the movers.
Will pop up the road later and get the key for the house. Robynn is terrible at time management, IE they sleep late and start their day at noon.. I like to be finished by then.
I will nip in and measure the bath then I can go get a tension rod to make the shower curtain run better. Ill wrap the old one that is there so it at least looks better. or just make sure the new curtain hides it, to start with.
So Ill nip up to Mitre10 in the morning before Dianne arrives.. get the rod and a can of paint, while I have the money. Then we will go to the house and put that up. Put some contact on the bare shelves in the cupboard. Change the cutlery drawer separator, hopefully it will fit.. if not it can replace the one that is getting old and a bit broken in this house.
Funny how cats tend to forget their creaks and crinkles, run or roll around like a hoon, then end up paying for it lol. Madam does too.
Have a fab day all

Cold & overcast again here today might get into the garden later if it warms up.
I've noticed lately that my hips are a bit sore & stiff after riding the bike, just getting older I hope.
Will be away most of tomorrow as a new power switchboard is being put in so no point staying home without power. Eldest granddaughter will pick up madame le Dog & I in the morning & we'll spend most of the day at theirs. Lucky its school holidays so will have some time with their two boys, the eldest & second eldest great grandsons.
I have to take Madame le Dog, it wouldn't be fair to leave her all day with strangers going in & out. Really not sure how she'll cope as she doesn't like travelling in a car & she's never been to their house, plus they have two cats, so it promises to be an interesting day. Madame le Cat will have to fend for herself, but she should be fine - although no doubt I'll pay for it later.

It wasn't the pharmacy's fault, roma. The doctor missed it and forgot to put it on the script. Phoned the medical center, she emailed it to the chemist but not the chemist we use so a bit of running around. And Pharmac have changed MrK's eye drops to individual vials rather than the little bottle. More rubbish for the landfill. Honestly, they can't see past their noses at times. It may be a tad cheaper, but we pay for it in the long run with more rubbish.
Still no rain, just a bit of wind and now sunshine.

Its windy here, but no rain since earlier this morning.
Well Ummmm I got the two wardrobe boxes mid morning... I should have ordered 3.. That shocked me cos when we moved here we borrowed two boxes but there was Two of us. So I had some large bags and used a box after cramming as much as I could into two boxes..
Been over the new house. To measure the length I need for the shower pole. Im getting it cos I dont want to use the yucky one thats there.
The Two sets of chairs will fit along the Back wall Yay... Just. so I will have a row of brown chairs opposite a wall of white shelves and the tv.. And all my pretties and cookbooks.
The coffee table will fit nicely between..
Its a nice heavy timber one. Supported MrP's weight. But it needs re varnishing.. Sacrilegious I know but Im tempted to paint it white. And last night I was looking at stencils which are ridiculously cheap on Temu.. I could paint it white and put a black decorative panel down the middle or perhaps on the 4 corners.. I Paid the Grand sum of $1 when I won it on Trade me lol.
Dianne is coming tomorrow and we will Take a load each around.. But it will be more getting last bits done here.
But first Ill do my blood then go to Mitre10.
The last item left off my script was Warfarin... of all my meds thats the one I need before anything else.
Geeze looks like it will be worse tomorrow. Maybe we will just work here. Neither of us need to get wet or sick
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies We have rain, not like in Northland, but it is rain. And then the wind dries it out again.
Two police cars with sirens going have hooned by this morning already. The main road is very quiet, so I suspect an accident on the Kaimais. In this weather, it would be slippery as heck up there.
The plan for today is to have another quiet day. The flutters have been going crazy over the last few days. I'm hoping that it was a last hurrah
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Windy still but no rain.
Last night there was a Massive Boom. Didnt really sound like an car crash, it was more heavy dense Boom. A friend closer to town heard it as well. Nothing reported on FB last night tho.
Bloods and a wee bit of shopping before Dianne arrives today. Its a very long time since I have worked with contact, so it will probably be a laugh..
Might also meet my landlords Nephew, he could be doing a couple of things at the house. Last time I saw him he was a baby in my arms.. So I Suspect he may have changed lol.
Stay warm and dry everyone.
