If your friend is are looking at mobility scooters, check out Independent Living. It's a charity based organisation, and trustworthy. They provide me with all servicing, but they also do sales, and advice.

And they don't rip off.

As for second hand, if they don't want to risk Trademe, the big retirement villages have managers, who usually know who is selling what in their villages, and that can lead to good bargains...

Madam here is sweet in one way.

U can dish her dinner up but she wont eat until I do. I dish hers up earlier if it has been in the fridge. Tonight she had a wait.

The pork and roast vege's were lovely.

Sadly the packet gravy I made wasn't... I boiled the new jug three times before using it. And I've used it in the rice pudding. But it made the gravy taste horrible.

At least I think that's what it was. The gravies have changed so much maybe its them.. It was a Continental Roast chicken one.

And the Crackle was good but I gave the jaw a work out lol...

The previous house there was the light, a fan and a heater all in the same machine, but you could choose which you wanted on. The fan never cooled the room down tho, not like the one here, that is on the wall directly across from the shower lol.. And pretty much above you sitting on the toilet.

I must remind myself I am lucky to have a roof I can now afford tho...

Yeah Im not much of a fan but thought It would be a nice change. Wrong.

Apparently packet cakes are nicer if you add butter eggs and milk.

Might as well make them from scratch.

I make a yummy Depression cake no eggs milk or butter.. Very moist and yummy as cakes go. I prefer biscuits.

I got a recipe for a no knead cheese and onion bread yesterday. The onion comes from a packet of French onion soup. But ill be leaving that out. When I get yeast on Thursday.

Even though we have a large SUV, he still finds this gadget the best thing since sliced bread. It gives him something to lean on as he gets out of the car. He keeps it in the side of the door at easy reach. There are lots on the market now all around this price.

Woo hoo, weather is looking good! But I'll take the brolly anyway. When I go looking for a little Tui strawberry straw bale to put under my transplanted babies - which have enjoyed the rain and started new leaves. But I have also heaps of library reserves to collect and I have run out of bread, cheap wine, the cat food she actually likes, and the awful processed coffee sachets I have become addicted to. I blame that tv ad with the gorgeous man on the horse. So yummy. Ascooting I will go, in my bright purple coat and my neat wee bright red boots. The only question is - jeans? Or mad tights? Hmmmm, decisions, decisions...

morning ladies Foggy and wet, a great start to Field Days lol. Sooooo much traffic!

Yesterday the Furry One's registration arrived and was shocked to find our Council have doubled it this year. Another reason for them not to have my vote this year. Yes, I know owning a dog is a 'lifestyle choice' but to hit us like this is just plain mean. And when I query it, I'll get the usual replies, it pays for the dog park and the animal control officer, blah, blah, blah. If the animal control officer rounded up those that didn't pay, then I wouldn't mind. Or came quickly when there was an issue. My sister-in-law always said rules apply to those who obey them. At the public meeting I went to a year or so ago the mayoress said when challenged about rates, 'what do you expect me to do, double the dog fees?' So, there it is. It's revenue gathering as the council couldn't put the rates up to what they wanted. Rant over, but boy, I'm furious.

We won't be going anywhere over the next few days. The traffic will be madness with the Field Days. They have closed some highways though to stop the build up of traffic on the expressway. And our new roundabout at Pairere should help things along. Just hope they close the passing lanes as cars trying to 'merge like a zip' at the end slow everything down and traffic banks up.

One more afternoon will see the hardanger finished and maybe part of the hem as well. Getting there!

Won 20 cream horn moulds on Trademe  for $10 now to perfect gluten free puff pastry lol the things we buy on a whim lol.

Morning everyone

Not so cold this morning.

Kiwimade those handles for the car are amazing. I got one from trade me years ago for MrP It now resides on my side of the car. I lost count of the number of people I showed it to in the carparks of the rest homes.

Doubling the dog fee is rediculous... Revenue gathering at its best.

Im going to bake again this morning.. Just a small bake. Afghans cos Dianne gave me a box of Crunchy Nuy cornflakes, they didnt like, but I do. They dont go as soggy as normal ones so we decided they might work well in Afghans.. And she was craving shortbread so Ill make that too.

And as I have also run out of bread I thought I could go up and get a loaf, and an apple cos I dont have one for today, but then I thought well I could make a couple of cheese scones, and stay home lol.

Im sooo tempted, have a fixed price offer on some retro Tupperware, which would give me joy... Ohh stuff it Ill buy them.. I have wanted something in the Orange, green and yellow and these are the shelf savers.. so small enough to add to the collection.

wow, what is that yellow thing in the sky? lol Washing is actually on the line and a big pot of chicken and leek soup done for dinner. Vegies all from the garden except for the onion. And I even made the stock A whole chook is good value for us. We have at least four main meals between us and some for sandwiches.

Cream horns! Haven't had them for years!

Traffic is still hooning by, good luck finding a car park at Mystery Creek. Park and bus might be the way to go.

I have my mother in laws, so not sure how old they would be, and some I got from Mitre10 probably 25 years ago at least.

Good they have gluten free pastry. People lover them and everyone should be able to eat them.

MrP couldnt eat fresh cream, but could eat the spray can one ( I know there isnt any difference, but its how it worked).. so he was happy to be able to have them too.

I miss making soup.. sigh.

I put a big mohair sweater on with the jeans this morning, just the one layer, went out and got the scoot organised in the sun, came inside and swapped out the mohair for a polyester pretend sweater. Cooler. There is some warmth in that sun, might not need the pretty coat.

And just as I type that a gray cloud slides overhead and the temperature drops...

Well the shortbread are massively different. Some over cooked oops... but the others are good.

The New rolling pin that ensures they are all the same thickness is great.. And the new cutters I got, that also print pictures into the cookie are cool. Christmas themed, smaller biscuits but they are cute.

Cheese scones were yummy.

The Tupperware I brought are brand new, never used. Even come with the original instruction sheet.. Imagine having something for 50-55ish years and never using it lol. They will look wonderful on the mantle piece in the kitchen with my wooden spoon collection lol.

Loneliness is the leading cause of stress related health issues in the senior population of this country. Having a pet or pets is a proven way to lower those statistics, and save everybody time, money, and resources.

Oughta be compulsory, imo., and subsidised, at least a tax write off!

Fee for neutered k9 here is $152  $92 for reduced fee category. 

Been playing with my challenge fabric that I received in April reveal due in November but it is wool so thought I would make a coat and get some use from it it the cold weather. Not quite enough fabric but have some nice boiled wool in contrast colourcthat I can use for facings.

Unexpectedly bought two phones & two batteries on TM. Told sweetie darling no.2 that these old ones are getting really stiff & I'm having trouble pushing the numbers on them.


 Should have kept big mouth shut - approximately ten seconds later he'd found a couple of phones & batteries at a reasonable price. I suppose it makes sense, these old ones are getting more difficult each time I use the damned things & it took several seconds to hit the talk button last time so it was only a matter of time before they needed replacing.
I'd intended to head out today but its freezing again so apart from the obligatory walk, not going anywhere. never mind, mucked about with a couple of paintings instead.

Ohhh my, I love love, love, that wool, mica and can see it knitted up as the shawl. Those are the colours I was thinking about for the sea horse I plan to stitch next.

We have all the discounts, mica and being rural, dog registration is supposed to be cheaper again. Am still angry about it. The Furry One is a great stress buster and living rural, I see him as a necessity. I still say it is revenue gathering.

I have finished the hardanger design *does the happy dance* and am now working on the hem. When it's done completely, I'll take a pic and post it here.
