There was 11 fillets of fish.
5 Schnapper and 6 Gurnard... so just shy of $3 per piece. That will keep me going for a wee while.
Decided to bring the dryer into the laundry.. Might as well make the most of the heat it puts out.
So I had to get the desk from the back shed, lug that around to the front of the house, cos it wont work around the little landing area at the back door. Move the heavy as book case MrP made me years ago and I put that in the garage. Was a Mission cos its taller than the door down to the same landing.
But Have all in place and sent a text to Jess. Her man who is the mover with the company I used will bring the dryer in for me.
Of course after buying fence staples I uncovered MrPs ones in the little shed. But I just have spares now lol.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies It's supposed to be fine over the next few days. With any luck, the lawn can dry out a bit before it's mowed again. The road is back to its 'normal' flow of traffic.
yummm fresh fish. That was good buying, popeye.
The sea horse design has been transferred to the fabric and the fabric stitched to my wooden frame. The stand MrK built for me is perfect and makes stitching bigger pieces much easier. I've chosen the colours and beads, although that may change as it progresses.
I have everything ready for a crock pot dinner, the Furry One is sitting in the kitchen hoping something tasty will 'accidently' fall off the bench. That may or may not happen

Morning everyone
Grey and bleak here, and chilly.
I was pleased with the fish buying.. I ate the last two bits from the freezer last night. So its nice to have it restocked. MrP taught me to cook it from frozen, cos I like fish battered. And it stays moist.
Todays plan, yep moving furniture once I've done my dishes... Ill have to move a pantry to bring the double door cabinet MrP made me years ago into the kitchen. Then Ill move the bookcase I put in the garage into the sewing room and put the pantry back.
I've decided also to get some more plastic lidded baskets from the warehouse on Thursday for one of the shelves in the kitchen. Like the one I got for the plastics yesterday, but I could put my cook books, potatoes etc in the others and things will be nice and orderly.
I dont think Ill ever stop moving furniture around lol.. Even when I was a kid I would move the room around, my mother never minded cos it meant things were kept tidy. lol.
Have a wonderful day everyone
Edit to add, I must get my black paint out and paint the frame on the picture Dianne did for me..
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

I am watching Ruth Richardson on Q&A, and increasingly need to throw something heavy at the tv screen, lol. So bad for my blood pressure, I think I better mute it until someone else comes on...

Thar woman always has pi**ed me off and I'm glad I'm not watching her. The Tv would be on the floor instead of the wall... I really really need to find new swear words... Hmmm... google might help there.

She hasn't improved. I switched over to youtube and listened to Jacinda instead. My Sunday morning politics while I scan NZ pottery listings and drool over beautiful things I must not buy!

If there's a politician I just cannot stand, its her. The woman lacks empathy & a conscience.

I tend to find myself shouting OFO at the TV whenever a politician appears...
I blame politicians for my many, many failed attempts to give up swearing..

What I also don't like about Willis is how she looks adoringly at Luxton as he speaks... it's creepy.

Must be a training incentive they have cos Witch Willis has the same lack of human. her smile is soo fake and the last straw for me was the Pay Equity thing. She threw all women under the bus.. she should have been the first to go.
Yeah - that really pee'ed me off,the way women had to do the announcement of it. Not that she gives a toss, not likely to affect her. It'll just be those lazy poor people affected; they'll just need to work harder.
And what also annoys me is their glorious leader calling himself a Christian while deliberately causing pain & hardship to others.
I'm not Christian but fairly sure their god wasn't altogether in favour of that kind of behaviour...

If he lasts that long. Rumours in the Nat community suggest he is not popular. I of course take no pleasure in that. None at all at all...

Good morning.
It looks cold outside where I'll be venturing soon for school duties.
Your hardanger piece is beautiful KM ... what a lot of work has gone into it ... very rewarding result!
Busy weekend which included a meal out for 47 year anniversary ... don't know where those years have gone. Catch up in the garden when the weather allowed. Today I need to do some baking to have on hand (for the freezer).
Had better get moving.
Enjoy the day all.

Windows are all frosted up with condensation this morning so the doors are open to help with that before I get up and get cracking with the Karcher. That is the one problem with having efficient curtaining, the heavy linings don't let that warm wet air escape back into the room and as soon as the cold hits the other side... That will be one element of my flat the landlords will not be changing when they refurbish this flat. I'll have the new kitchen and bathroom, but they can keep their nasty thin curtains - and I'll fight to keep my beautiful polished floors too, in preference to their cheap plastic carpeting. Though, it will be interesting to see if they opt for wool after the govermment's grant system for social housing. That is one Nat programme I support, our wool industry needs the boost.
I did a bit of baking yesterday, using a recipe from the internet that was an awful let down. Don't know what I did wrong but it was a complete failure, first time that's happened for decades, complete waste of ingredients. Back to the old family cookbooks for me! When they pulled out the hot water tank there was an ancient cookbook behind it, 70s I'm guessing, full of contributed recipes from all over the country complete with the names of contributors, and old ads with five numeral phone numbers.
Those were the days...

morning ladies It's cold here too, I suspect we've had a frost.
Congratulations on 47 years, roma Those years do go by quickly! And thank you for your kind comment about the hardanger.
I read (Stuff probably) about women leaving abusive relationships and MSD refusing them emergency housing saying they bought 'homelessness on themselves'. Disgusting attitude. When Luxton was asked about it, he said that's not true. Everyone who needs it, is entitled to it. But MSD have been instructed to tighten the criteria. It was only when Hipkins asked him about it that he had the MSD Minister look into it and yes, that was right. Now they are going to 'fix' it. This was even when the woman was with an advocate from Women's Refuge or another charity. They were even challenged for not reporting it to the police. Not all women have the strength to do that. This government needs a boot out the door at election time. If we can't look after the vulnerable, then that says a lot about them and us.
This morning, I plan to shuffle some of MrK's outside stuff against the west side of the house to the back yard so he can decide what he wants to do with it. It will make it easier for him (and me) to get right round the house with no trip hazards. He has made some amazing trellis type frames for the tomatoes etc and he has asked I find a spot closer to the garden for them. Makes sense to me. And then when the guys come from the Men's Club to take away the timber he no longer wants, it will be easier for them too.
The sea horse is going to be a slow project; I'm using my other-in-law's thread (she died in 2000) and it seems a lot skinnier than other brands. It could be because it is from the 1990s, fitting seeing as the beads are from that era. Or it could be I have become used to using a thicker thread and bigger needle over the last three projects. A number nine needle is smaller than a crewel needle lol. My fingers feel fat lol.
Time to put the washing on and make the most of the sunshine.
