I watched Cruella last night, on Disney. I am so enjoying that cheap subscription, and the movie was a great deal of fun, with the mad designer clothes and exaggerated roles from the two Emmas. So much so that I have reserved the dvd from the library for my neighbour and another friend, both of whom I know will enjoy it.
No real plans for the day, my babying the back bones along is working well and I am loathe to upset that healing with too much effort making, the sooner I can move without pain the better I will like it, so just a bit of gentle housework and not too much bending. And maybe a bit of pruning of the mutabilis rose, if the weather permits. It is time that job got done.

I was given a fairly strong message yesterday - standing at the kitchen bench doing something when I hapened to glance out the window. And there on the shed roof were two little birds staring fixedly at me.
Oh. Buggar. I'd forgotten to make bird balls so set about doing it as fast as possible. They must have been really hungry because while I was tying the second one on, they were already having a go at the first, poor things.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Thats something I miss,, I cannot see outside from where I sit. The only window is behind me, but further along the wall.
Did my Maid Jobs..
Mr Landlord came around with a new battery for the smoke alarm and bugger me we were talking and the dam thing kept peeping lol.. So he took it down again , but its louder. So he left it down and they will get one on Tuesday.
I went back to finish the dishes and I could hear it in the kitchen where I couldn't before.. So I took the battery out of the dammed thing.
He also hung my twisted wood spiral thingee that I never had up at the other house. It will probably get wet and swell but its better than it sitting in a box somewhere.
So I've just done the first round of games, one more to do then Ill paint.
The container I got yesterday holds everything so Im pleased about that. Now all my plastic clothes baskets can go back in the car for groceries. Especially handy for carrying drinks.
Had a quick look at Microwaves and slow cookers.. I miss having two slow cookers, one for my breakfast and one for mains. Only need a little one.. And had a quick look at microwaves too. Not many with the same wattage Im used to, mine is 1100w. And I dont think Id like getting less power, so it can stay until it stops working. The Light gave up on me, and I dont know how to change the bulb in them.
Perhaps I should have been looking up the manual online and see if it can be done.. Ill get the details off the back later.
Next lot of games, then I can paint later.. Much later too cos my spookies are on tonight lol.
Got a massive pork chop out of the freezer and some tiny tatties which will contain some butter and cheese.
Since I've started eating more red meat of course its messed up my INR and warfarin dose.. Cant blardy win... so lighter meat and no greens tonight lol
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies What a beautiful, calm, start to the day after all these storms.
MrK is still in hospital but slowing on the mend. Fingers crossed for today or tomorrow he comes home.
In the meantime, I'm having a day off from visiting and am going to move the mulch onto the garden. It isn't as much as I've had before so shouldn't take long to do. And it's a 'clean' mess, if that makes sense. I might even prune a few more roses if I have some ooomph left over. Every window in the house is open to let fresh air in and a load of washing is about to finish. I want to make the most of this 'me' day
The Furry One is still sleeping. The other morning he was quite put out when I turned the light on in the bedroom. I even got a whiney growl lol. I'm usually up before MrK, so don't normally turn the light on. Today I need to put his new $82 registration tag onto his collar.
Washing machine is done, the suns up, time to get cracking.

Cool and calm here in the smoke, very quiet out there, even the birds seem otherwise occupied. Supposed to be a lovely sunny afternoon so once the morning stuff is over I'll probably catch up on some laundry, but other than that not a lot of the to do list today.

Morning everyone
Chilly again but its fine.
Ill be washing, especially the towels and put them outside today.
Kiwimade "me" days are important and for you being in the garden will be just what you need.
Today MrP would be 79.. and probably grumpier lol.
Ive decided to turn the single sheet I got on Friday into Tri Pillowcases. Possibly one sided so I can get two, maybe 3. I have a couple of single red sheets I could use for the back.
But my Painting is first. And once I finish that Ill paint the borders on it and the one Di did for me and get them hung up.
Will take a wander around the trees later too and check on the passionfruit. I must get some epsom salts and give them a feed too.
Have a lovely day all

MrK can't be discharged today as no doctors are available to discharge him. And I suspect his INR isn't right anyhow.
Half of the mulch has been moved and boy I feel good. Only had to stop for a few minutes and even then, I hung some washing out. I think this ablation may be finally kicking in. And I've noticed I no longer sleep for two hours in the afternoon. Still have the odd flutter but nothing like before.
Another 10 or so buckets of mulch and the garden out on the roadside will be done. I'll prune Dublin Bay while I am working around her, my goodness nothing bothers that rose, it's tough as old boots. Any leftover mulch can go on the other side of the fence The Furry One is very happy to have someone home today even if he can't get to her with the gate closed.

Good morning.
What a nice start to the day with warm sunshine and little breeze.
Groceries done and away and will get the next lot of washing out on the line when my coffee finished. A day to be outside.
Nice to have a "me" day KM ... Mr K in the best place until better. Doesn't the sun at this time of year inspire a gardening session
The SI family here later on ... glad the weather has picked up for them ... snow their end!
Welly family making Xmas plans up this way ... yikes, I hadn't thought that far ahead yet!
Better make the most of the day.
Enjoy all.

There were 12 bucket loads of mulch left, so I wasn't far off lol. And I've weeded where I sprayed the twitch a couple of months ago and prepared the ground for compost. The cream knee-high dahlias can go back once the compost is there. You're right, roma. These sorts of days certainly inspire
MrK is most put out he couldn't recover at home. I reminded him what happened last time when the ambulance was called in the wee hours, and we had to literally start again with finding him a bed. He's not grumpy, just fed up with being in hospital.
The windows are all closed to let the sun work its magic and warm the house up for the evening. I'm going to sit in the sun and enjoy the quiet.

Such a glorious afternoon I took my warmed up legs and the secateurs out for a walk in her nextdoors garden and filled the green bin with mutabilis prunings and hibiscus branches. Just need to go back and take out all the crossing branches now but without the thorns I could at last pull out the grasses that were infesting the bed. Now the bulbs will have less competition.
Earned my wine today, that's for sure, and the back loved all that exercise in the sun...

Sorry I made an error earlier.
Motorway was the tri biker om trade me who died with kidney disease.
But it was James ( with some numbers) who often ate burnt offerings off the crown Lynn plate. He was a hard case but sadly died a while ago now. but his family left his face book page open.

morning ladies We have a frosty start to the day At least the cold has killed the flies.
It's back up to the hospital this morning, I've already had one phone call from MrK and it's not even 7.00am. Fingers crossed he comes home today. I'll take the phone charger with me just in case he doesn't. On the way home I'll buy some bags of compost for the dahlias. We have almost used the compost in our bins.
It feels good to have the sun on your back when in the garden, especially this time of the year and the extra warmth helps with those pains and niggles. My fingers warmed up quickly yesterday with the mulch, especially as I worked under the wet top. Nothing like a steaming pile of mulch to warm you.
Better get organised, the road is always busy this time of the day and car parks can be hard to find.

Morning everyone
Tis a tad chilly. I've got the heater on cos I dont want Dianne getting cold.
It will be nice to see her, and she can have a updated look at what I've been doing for the last month. Well its just over a month as her surgery was a month yesterday.
Today would be my stepfathers 96th birthday. I like to think he is watching over me and hopefully is proud of me.
Goodness me Jackie Clark has aged, I haven't seen her for ages.
Fingers crossed for MrK's return Kiwimade.. I always considered my stays in hospital as a holiday, and MrP's stay a just as much a holiday. Me time. And respite.
Also game day so not much painting will be done today..
Heading towards the last Ostrich, It will be good but sad to have it done.. My Next Picture of Madam will be here today.. But I have a hoard of pictures now.. And once I have done all Missy ones that will be 6.. I wish they wouldnt keep coming out with them... In saying that tho Id love my best picture of her made into a diamond painting.. Its cheaper these days I should find out lol
Even with the DVS Im using the Karcher on the windows again.
Stay warm everyone its going to be raw I think..

This winter, though I find it really mild, is proving to be a pain in the arse. First I come down with that respiratory virus, flu or covid or whatever it was, then the hot water cylinder did its thing, then I did my back in, and last night my throat started to talk back to me. This morning weird voice and raging nasties that even lemon honey won't fix.
I am so over these tests to my good mood. I just need to kill something, lol...

Dont shoot the messenger but perhaps you need to do a covid test Hunnie.. A sore throat is the first warning of it.
I always suck chocolate when I have a raw throat, it sooths it.. and is a bloody good treat when feeling not so flash.
