If you thought NZ had an electricity problem looming you ain't seen nothing yet if these move in. To my mind it does explain the 'unexplained' halt in construction of the west Auckland datacentre though. Change in technological necessities or a symptom of electricity supply shortfalls? The energy demands of these installations are absolutely eye-popping!

And their water use. That might be even more scary. Especially for those of us without water tanks...

A future where continued exploitation of resources are allowed does not look much fun.
