morning ladies We have more fog this morning, hopefully it will clear away quickly.
Daylight saving begins today and it takes me about a week to adjust. My head already feels like it is stuffed with cotton wool at the moment, this will just add it.
Once MrK is all sorted for the morning, the plan is to do a bit more weeding. One of my plants was knocked back by frost a while ago and hasn't really recovered. My sister-in-law says it will be fine, but it looks dead as a dodo to me. I'll trim a little bit off and see if it's still green. Otherwise, it will be dug out and composted.
Our local book fair is back early next month This year I'll see if one of my sisters-in-law would like to come with me. I'm still working my way through the pile we bought last year lol. I'll try and get there before the professional book sellers this time. They scoop everything and anything up into massive bags to sell at markets and online. The bags are so heavy they have to drag them along the floor.
Coffee is finished and time is marching on. The Furry One is demanding we do the garden rounds.
have a good one

Well, my sister-in-law was right lol. There is a teeeeeny tiny green shoot starting, I only spotted it by chance.
There is something under the house that is driving the Furry One bonkers. It has been there for three days and for three days he has been barking at it, we've bought him inside and locked the doggy door. This morning, I have bought him inside, locked the doggy door, and he kept nudging the little locks until they opened. Out in a flash!

Rain is coming in, slowly, bit of a chill out there. Looks like it will be hanging around for the coming week too, I might pop a bucket out on the deck to start collecting rain water. It's good stuff in a tank, lol.
I scored one of those big preprepared chooks in a roasting bag at a silly price at the supermarket on Friday and decided I would roast it yesterday afternoon. Put the oven on, put the bird in its bag on a roasting dish on the bench near the stove ready to go in and went back to my book while the oven heated... Two hours hater I wondered why I couldn't smell roasting chicken - stupid stupid woman. So it was a somewhat late dinner for me and Tatt, she does like a wee bit of freshly roasted chicken. But from the look of what is left of that gorgeous bird I am set for a few rainy days now!
So I can read to my hearts content...
Oh! And great excitement - my grandmothers ginkgo bonsai has a teeny touch of green on one of its leaf nodes, so I can stop worrying if it had survived the winter. And my incompetence. Closing in on fifty years old now, so it is a hell of a responsibility for such a small tree. I would really like to find a bonsai master to take it over and look after it properly, but they are few and far between it seems...

If a stranger came to our house they would form the impression that we read few books, while in fact our enormous and well-filled book shelves are out of sight in the hall, we have almost 1000 books in our household Kindle account and we use the library so much that I reckon we cover our rates in borrowed books.

I have a much reduced library these days. I have given most away, just keeping a shelf or so, mostly beloved picture books and a bit of classic sci fi I like to repeat read every few years. But my library shelf, that's around fifteen/sixteen books and constantly changing. My life would be very different without our beautiful local library. And its librarians...

KM, I have just read your news, my thoughts are with you and Mr KM, hoping for a good result, it is a shame about the hip replacement.
If someone, who did not know me, came to my home, they would also think I never read, I have some books I will always keep, but they are stored in a cupboard, I have a few bags in the garage that friends pick books from, but I read off the tablet, never thought I would ever give up holding paper books, but the ease of getting books from the library is brilliant and being an avid reader it is great. Maybe to good!!! There are many times I am browsing for books when I should be doing other things.
OHH, the tank sounds brilliant, good luck and pictures would be great when it is all set up.
Had better get moving, the bird is Screaming he wants to go outside and the dogs are looking at me as if I have been abusing them we are late for their walk.
Hope the weather stays good for the rest of the weekend.

Morning everyone
Sunny so far so Madam is happy.
Im running late always do when we change times.
I had a nearly two hour nap on my bed yesterday. I slept lower and the back and hips behaved but Oh my knee is complaining. The worst its been since my surgery. Possibly a combination of standing too long. 3 days of alot of walking but oddly it didnt hurt on any of those days.
So Ive given in and taken a big pill and have a hottie over it. Ill put deep heat on once Ive eaten.
Hunnie there is someone out here who is really into Bonsais. They sell them too. If you would like Ill try and find them. Probably wont be too hard cos I've seen them on FB. They also sell at the weekly Market which is today.
KM I thought my hydrangea was dead, but its coming away again.. They amaze us sometimes.
I used to have probably thousands of books. Cooking and fiction in the lounge, Fiction in 2 bedrooms I had 3 bookshelves in my bedroom alone lol Trust me Moving them put me off. Now Im down to just my cook books in the lounge. and a few fiction in the spare room.
I plan on going through the books I got yesterday.. I looked through two of Delia Smiths Books, she is typically English and I like her recipes.. Was cool to have the original fresh apricot jam recipe I have used for years. But I make all my jams her way. soaking the fruit and sugar over night. It draws the juices out.
The one I started before I stared to nod off has a pie edging on the pages. Never seen a book like it.. Ill take a photo later.
Thats my plans today. Go through my books .
The soda stream pepsi max tastes different, but not ugly. lol. Ill get used to it.
Have a fab day all
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Overcast cand mild zephyr wind
K9 and I walked while DH at church its going to rain later
Love reading but if you visited you wouldn't think so. In the great down size and before I replaced physical copies of books with ebook copies. Couldn't be without our library get audio and ebooks have long reserve list.
Pleased with how Advent calendar turned out must be good the feline curled up on it.
Got friends coming for afternoon tea luckily I tried out another lemon yogurt cake recipe yesterday to use up the half jar of coconut yogurtcI used last weekend to make the vegan version. The latest version is very light and moist.
Might get into sewing cave to play with my pink duponi silk its going to be made up in jeans jacket style another casual style in posh fabric. The anorak I made earlier in the year is getting a bit of wear and a few compliments which makes this woman of certain age seem to been seen
Popeye what book are you looking for I could keep an eye out for you when I check local op shops for stuff for Nest collective.
Enjoy your day

I saw our first monarch butterfly for the season this morning It made my day, a little bit of joy. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts, every now and then the tears come but they are becoming fewer.
MrK built me a bookshelf in one of the spare bedrooms. There was a lotttt of swearing involved lol as it goes around a corner. He built it so we could put doors on it if we wanted too. We went through our books last year and donated loads to the book fair. Ended up coming home from the fair with just as many lol. I can't imagine not having books in the house. Kids complain they had nothing to do back in the day, read a book! And our love of books has been passed on through the generations with both of our kids and grandkids avid readers. Books tend to be 'recycled' throughout MrK's family too, we're always swapping them. The last person gets to either keep, donate, or if asked, returned to the original owner. Ohh, and Lilith, your post about re-reading Watership Down has inspired me to do the same at some stage. MrK has a gorgeous copy of it bought many moons ago.

I'm too scared to count mine - six bookshelves hold quite a bit!
Sunny so far so did a bit of washing & nailed string along the fence for when I do planting - need to get more too. I should know by now but somehow I always forget.

Its always interesting, to read a book again after several years. The book is now very different, because we're different. Definitely interesting.
I did manage to find Watership Down & it's coming apart so have glued it back together & if that doesn't work will get another copy.

I have only tried to re read one book Once.
It was the Women's Room by Marylin French. The second time I tried I couldn't get into it.
But If I had read that before I got married, I wouldn't have gotten married lol.
I should keep my eye out for it and give it a 3rd shot.
My Most fave books I think I have said before are Adams Empire and Kalinda, both by Evan Green. Both 1000 pages and more. And I can still remember the first page of the first book.
I haven't found them in my unpacking but perhaps I should read them again. I totally enjoyed the whole story. Set in Australia in the farming world.
Kalinda was very hard to find for many years Unless you could read German. But I was very lucky to find a copy at the gala at the school across from where we lived.. I have two copies now. They were very expensive when you couldnt get them in English.
Soo Totally know what your going through KM. Tears are a release valve. So let them flow.
I slept for 4 hours... My whole body was tight, arms from carrying bottles. So today goes down in history of I haven't gotten dressed lol.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies We may have rain today and that means weeding in between the raindrops.
The lilies are beginning to break the ground's surface, and one looks like it is erupting like a volcano. The earth around it has been tossed aside and it's huge. Can't wait to see it in flower. The move to this spot must have been a good call
MrK and I have had more talks about what he wants/needs, and he is writing a 'Before I Kark It' list. I said that's a bucket list so why not call it that, but he said, nope, I like this better. Our doctor cracked up laughing when he told her after she said to put our affairs in order and said, that's not a great movie title lol. I was thinking maybe he could write his list on bits of paper, put them in a jar and pull one out each day or so. We do what is written on that bit of paper. Once the biopsy results are in, we can both plan for whatever future we have left but this seems a way of working through things now.
I'm a bit out of sorts with daylight saving, give me a few more days and I'll catch up with everyone lol. The Furry One is loving it, his food miraculously appears without him asking for it
Enjoy your day

Morning all
Passing showers of rain.
I like MrK sense of humor kark it list is very NZ
Good friend popped in for afternoon tea yesterday and told us that she has been given 6- 12 months due to the advancement of her autoimmune condition that has now affected her cardiac function. Both myself and DH have in the past commented between ourselves that her and hubby didn't really understand the severity of the progression of the autoimmune disease. She has a great positive attitude and also has a kark it list which we will help her achieve.
Indoors day today DH planted in front of the TV watching the golf Ryder cup
Enjoy your day

I think we should all have our own before I kark it list, after all it might remind us time is precious and doesn't go on forever. And it is a great excuse to occasionally have ice cream and cereal for dinner when cooking something is just too hard, lol.
Or buying a fish tank that is really not needed.

Morning everyone
Not wet here yet.
I Like the Kark List. I think Ill change mine to that too. After all we are all going to do it eventually.
Can see that a lot of people would be Offended but that's one thing I like about Kiwis.. We say it like it is.
Yesterday was a wipe out lol.. But my knee is mending. Never thought it could hurt more than it did post surgery. It was nasty.
I have two more books to go through but today is games first.
Going to see if I have any more glucosamine and chondroitin. The joints are stupid.. why cant we just have a grease and oil change to fix it all lol.
Learnt something else. Last night Dianne got her daughter in law to shave her head properly. They told her on Friday at chemo its better to get rid of what is left now cos your head gets more sensitive as the treatment goes on. I never knew that. I told her if Kayla couldn't do it, I would but I couldn't guarantee I wouldn't cry.
Wow Just discovered she sent me a picture last night. It doesn't look as bad as I expected. And she wont have the worry of putting what was left under her caps and wigs.
Talking to her now, she said the grandies were a little worried. but she tucked them into bed and the wee boy said Nana I hope you get better real soon.. he's 6 or 7 I think.
Have a fab day all

I totally agree.. You dont want to drop off the hook with a full jar.
Lol you will use the fish tank Hunnie of that Im sure.. To keep ya Yuppies in lol

Good for Mr K, that is a truly excellent idea! Hope he gets to do every last thing on the list.
Watership Down didn't paste at all well so will have to hunt out another copy dammit.
On the plus side, managed to get a bit more garden dug over yesterday.
I've discovered a new to me - & very useful word with which to describe a good many politicans.
It's a Spanish word - Gilipollas.

There is one on TM but it looks like it's going to be an expensive buy. Obviously some good bakers want a copy!
