Nope, I've had lots of dogs over the years and known many more that I have walked, in my experience only certain dogs and in particular certain breeds like to chew stuff and of those many were bored and not walked enough. Dogs love to be part of the tribe and participate fully in family activities all they can, they get bored and get up to mischief when not included in the family group, which to me is the whole point of having a creature to stay with you that will also give warnings and often protect the children.
