Thank you ladies. I have never had a brindle cat so another first if it all works out, and yes it was the sweetness in her eyes that called to me. We shall see.
Funny thing, after the contractors had left yesterday I went down to check the door was closed and found my storage bins sitting on the path, so I put them back under the building on top of the acreage of thick black plastic, and noticed the suitcases I had also stored there by the door were gone. Empty, not valuable, and now definitely out of sight, so I will have to get a more flexible someone to double check for me, but it is a puzzle. Maybe they are under the plastic, lol...

Well I had a nice visit with Bobbie.
He couldnt be bothered talking, so I sat and talked to Bobbie.
And when I said I wanted to get home before it rained he threw a tantrum.
Made it home just as the thunder started rolling in. Its dark. Fat rain drops, Thunder and lightning,. and humid.
Gosh it was warm up there.
Tried jogging Bobbies memory about what schools she went to but she couldnt remember. Only that the school was at the end of the road she lived on.. So I might have a gander later and write down some street names.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Your thunder has made it to here, popeye There was some heavy rain too.
The Field Days started today lol. It would seem it doesn't matter when you have them, it's a sure thing there will be rain.
I wonder if someone spotted your suitcases, OHH, and decided they needed them more than you. Why on earth don't people leave things alone.
Life is a one time offer, use it well

I hope the suitcases turn up Hunni, & Popeye well done on weight loss.
Supposedly going to rain here so went out first thing & had a go at the hedge & some of the weeds by the drive, then a quick zip out to get Madame Le Dog's biscuits which are on special this week - got her other sort yesterday but can't manage both at the same time & groceries.
Came home had a sit for a while then went out to do more weeding in the garden - just started & down came the rain, just a few drops at first but got worse so had to give up. And then, once it was just too wet for any weeding - it stopped! It would, wouldn't it.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Lol Lilith, the battle with the weather recently is real! Hard to believe it's the first day of summer tomorrow!
We've also had the rain, sunshine, more heavy rain plus thunder and lightning today! I was glad of the underground carpark at the supermarket before. The rain on the roof as I shopped was VERY loud!
Lovely to have the family plus new baby here yesterday and last night. New babies are SO precious The sleep deprived parents are feeling it but I was able to baby mind while they got some much needed extra Zzzzzz's.
Have a list of 'wants' to knit for Xmas so will get started tonight, who knows when I can get outside next.
A mystery re the suitcases OHH. I hope the Tortie "negotiations" are progressing favourably.
Yep, typical Field Days weather KM, redbands a must

My flat is destroyed, lol, in an effort to make space for the giant cat tree coming on Monday. Not really a hardship as I had been planned this particular sort out for a while, but now I have till Monday to get it done. Nothing like the prospect of a warm furry incentive to overcome procrastination...

Oh Im so pleased for you OHH.
Yes a new heartbeat to pamper.. And something familiar for her to help her settle in too..
Any news on the suitcases? Man there's some A/H people around these days.
Woohoo just sold my camphor chest. It came to me as a peace offering in a way. My parents got my sister one. It was huge and I loved sitting with her as she went through it every time she got something new for it.
I never Qualified.. so when we saw one up here when Mum had moved in she got it for me. It's too small to hold much at all.. as in it holds DVDs but not a lot else.
And the only thing I use it for is to stand the Christmas Tree on.. So I decided to sell it as it will only take up space when I move into a smaller place.
The buyers are in Manukau so if they aren't in any hurry I've offered to take it with me on the 16th.
I may buy a special piece of jewelry, as I never qualified for a bracelet or signet ring like my Sister did either.. lol.. Then again I have a lot of jewelry that I dont wear. lol
But I will use it wiseley
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

But I will use it wiseley My camphorwood chest was my 21st birthday gift from my parents. It is very old, brass bound and on feet. My Father asked his friend Tommy Ah Chee to locate one for him and sure enough he found one in his mother's house and passed it on to my Dad, along with the warning from her that if I ever wanted to start a family, to have the chest removed from under my roof until conception was assured. We took that with a grain of salt, and I loved it too much to ever part with it, but... when I finally did conceive, after all the experts had given up on me, I did that under a completely different roof, much to everyone's surprise (and my shock!). So maybe there was some truth to Tommy's mother's advice.
Oh, and it is still here, right beside me. Must be over two hundred years old now, and I love it dearly.

Wow that sounds wonderful OHH..
This is probably a mass produced one. It has been picked up, a member of the family lives a couple of roads away lol.. And it is going to have a makeover so Ive asked if they would send me photos when done. I certainly dont have any emotions tied to it. It was brought as a peace offering.
I have one of these red notes.. I dont remember the last time I saw or had one of those lol.

Well - I've known some strange things to happen so why not a chest which prevents conception! Which would have been very handy for women sometimes.
So pleased you'll have a little feline again to keep you in line.

I saw a big one on TM ages ago, that someone had stripped and painted, it was gorgeous. I was so intrigued I found a small one and tried it out, and yes, it looks lovely too. I have that on a bookshelf with a lamp on it. A fun piece. It became a family thing to give me these boxes because they knew I loved them. My grandmother had one lined with gold satin and pearls for one birthday, filled with a very fine hand knitted baby shawl - I passed that on to my daughter. Don't know if she ever used it, but I still have the chest with very precious things inside. And I have her tiny one, which used to hold all the war medals, those too are in Australia now with my grandson. So that's five chests in this tiny space, lol. Oh well, a girl cannot have too many preventatives for accidental conceptions!!

Wouldn't want any conceptions now lol... Although I guess I would be rich if it did happen lol...
I went through a phase of having wooden boxes. And a lovely lady I knew gave me a set of three, far finer carved boxes which I use for my jewelry. But they are hidden away. So maybe when I move somewhere I'll be able to display them.
Im taking a necklace to the jewellers tomorrow. It was given to me and I was told its Thai Gold. It has some black beads in it too. But it annoys the heck out of my skin to wear it. So I want to have it valued. And depending on what they say will depend on where it gets sold. I was shocked to see the prices of some selling on TM. But I know the person that gave it to me would want me to wear it or use its sale to get something I can wear with it. So depending on what they say tomorrow it could be a very exciting day.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Good morning.
It's fine ... so far, and I hope I can hang the washing out!
Exciting having your new friend arrive today OHH. I have only ever had cats as kittens, so I expect it will be like an 'adoption' lol. Perhaps that is the path I could follow ..... next time round
KM I'm glad you are on the other side of Covid. Are you still testing for your own peace of mind?
Better keep moving, I have the grandies today and my day will revolve around them and school.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
Tis sunny at the mo and a bit blustery and coolish too.
I have several jobs to do today, I do like a productive day.
Glad you have tested Neg Kiwimade.. But do try and rest too...
I have a lamp that I had sitting on the camphor chest in the lounge that I leave on. With last night's change I used a grotty foot stool which had the fake leather peeling off. Grabbed the scarlet red fabric I got from the oppy a while ago and covered it and tucked in under nicely and sat the lamp on it. I like it. Simple but it just looks better than what the box looked. Very pleased.
Try and stay warm and dry everyone. I haven't seen the weather but it looks like it might be another day of 6 seasons lol...
Have a fab day all
