Approval ratings fluctuate...

I think it is absurd to compare approval ratings of how well a Prime Minister and a Leader of the Opposition are doing their respective jobs.  Their jobs are almost completely different.  And Luxon is almost completely unknown, whereas the PM is extremely high profile and has been the target of a huge amount of vitriolic and groundless abuse.

To be fair I think its safe to say that any govt, left or right, would have struggled with covid because its new territory so very much 'learn as you go'

But its also true that some have huge problems with women leaders, & especially when its  a left party she's leading. And that at this stage, not so much is known about Luxon.
