i'm assuming you are referring to the old legacy "Windows Media Player", I think you will find little motivation and support to fix bugs in it as the WMP 12 page only lists support up to Windows 10

or are you actually having the subtitles problem with the modern "Media Player" app? In which case a bug will usually get resolved eventually once reported, but I wouldn't hold your breath it will happen any time soon...
As for your menus, the copy paste move rename options are now buttons at the top or bottom of the context menu... no written labels, just an icon to identify it
Alternatively you can bypass the new context menu and revert to displaying the old context menu (ie more options) by a simple registry edit
