Bad driving

Because I looked at Stuff in relation to the other thread I posted on, I also found this https://www.stuff.co.nz/opinion/13121234...ivers-test.

If people have a problem keeping up with road code knowledge then regular testing might help, but the problems quoted are things that every driver knows. Jumping red lights, texting while driving, crossing the centre line, passing on the inside, and so on, are all basic wrongs. The author's proposal for testing wouldn't help one iota. It's attitude that is the problem and always has been. Implementing testing just makes another huge cost on the innocent instead of hitting the guilty. More fines for transgressions would help get money into the public coffers and make the roads safer.

We don't need testing. Unfortunately we need enforcement.
