Appears she was born in Columbia - or did I read that wrong?  And has only been in NZ for 8 years.  I think I have shoes that have been in in NZ longer.

Acceptance was what I suggested, most of them aren't trying to change the world, maybe just a few of them.  The majority, like anyone else just want to be accepted.  Not be told they are somehow inferior by some foreign Nosie Parker.

and I think living in NZ for 8 years qualifies her to be considered a New Zealander... what a bunch of wankers NZ would be if we adopted a counter position to that...
