This line seems apt

people who harbor delusional narratives tend to bulldoze over reality in their attempt to deny that their own narrative is false.

If those pushing the 'Covid is a conspiracy' or  stirring up hatred against trans people could manage to change the circumstances which led to their faulty beliefs, that would be a good start.
