I would suggest that NZ's strict lockdown, border closures, and social distancing and masking protocols played as large if not a greater measure in our COVID control success than did vaccination, and these measures remain most effective as the virus continues to mutate gaining infectiousness and decreasing mortality.
Also New Zealand's exemplary strategy in controlling the invasion and transmission of COVID was a rarity among the world's nations. If the WHO Treaty as being touted had been in place it is unlikely that we would have had the freedom to implement the measures we did but instead would have been forced to follow the lead of whatever broad brush strategies the WHO mandated. Do you really see that as best for us?
