From what I've heard (2nd hand foreigners' reports), "they're a weird mob".
I'm sure the lawyers will be rubbing their hands at that windfall decision. The victim and the accused are largely irrelevant now, the system will proceed ponderously and expensively through a lengthy series of appeals, hearings and deferments while the revenue stream flows merrily on. Women, foreigners and minorities in Italy are apparently not taken very seriously by the system as long as they don't disturb the status quo. If there's any fuss about the cost of all this, that lady will be blamed.
