Question needs to be asked if it was worth it at the expense of our economy. We are so screwed right now.

Most countries are in recession at present to some degree and we're actually doing better than some economies that are regarded as strong, and of course many affected countries are trade customers of ours so their issues flow through as reduced export volumes for us.

You would be hard placed to come up with a country that isn't "screwed" just now, and as king1 states, there's more of us alive out of the other end of that pandemic.

National said that NZ is the only country in the Asia pacific region that is in a recession.
It could have largely been avoided.
And where is the excess 1 billion dollars a week going that's being spent?
