Don't despair, the Barons have a time tested remedy for disposing of surplus serfs. Before they start uniting, engage them as cannon fodder, to be handsomely paid in the new currency after the tumult and the shouting dies. Boldly ally us with either Ukraine or Russia dependent on the cost-benefit ratios offered, and send off our gallant Serf Infantry to the sound of the new patriotic music being composed by the Baronial Music Think Tanks. Those not volunteering for this brave new world will of course be tried and shot as cowards in the time tested way. Their relations will of course not inherit anything as it will all lawfully pass to the Barons under the new laws.
