lowering speed limits hasnt saved any lives, the people who drive drunk or speed will do it anyway, same as the failed gun "buyback" its targeted the wrong people

Yes, driving on the Napier/Taupo road which has been reduced to 80K/hr for about 90KM is a pain. Firstly, there are bad areas due to Cyclone damage but OK, make those parts 80K area. But, most of the road is good and was designed to be driven at average of 80K/hr. So many people drive at 100K anyway and like jim157 says, we will always have idiots.
