Winston is a consummate politician that learnt his trade from Muldoon. He is a fast talker but poor when it comes to substance as those who have partnered with him in the past well know. In the case of Luxon, Winston is a potential lifeline if the vote falls short for NAct but Luxon's inexperience in the political arena would see Winston and Seymour run rings around him in a coalition. Luxon's claim that he "didn't know" Winston in last nights debate was an obvious balls up as it implies that Luxon is either prepared to partner with someone he knows nothing about, or he was blatantly lying about his dis-familiarity with Winston. Lose-lose!
So far as The Greens are concerned your use of the term "communist" is well off the mark and probably an indication of your adoption of the wrongful use of this recently by those in the CT arena. Socialist is far closer to the truth but in the current situation of an existential crisis occurring from climatic factors which of course is fuel to an environmentally aware political party. The major parties are so focussed on economic ideologies they are hamstrung in being unable to adopt any meaningful environmental policies because for them this is on the wrong side of their ledger. Similarly social support measures funded by redistribution of excess wealth which is abhorrent to a large portion of the electorate who see themselves as rich but in reality are comfortably wealthy until their house of cards comes apart.
It has been said often that NZers don't so much vote governments in as vote them out. We are likely to be cast out of the frying pan and into the fire as this rings true once again.
