Although information then wasn't so easy to come by, nor contraceptives but that certainly changed for the better rapidly. The 'sex education' when I was in high school consisted of one very short lecture for every girl in the school (the boys had theirs separately) which was almost entirely useless.
Its far easier for kids now to get information, it just needs care in where that comes from & how accurate & well presented it is.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
