In reality, this country is particularly blessed by its governance, its politics, its civil society, and its police. Not perfect, but in comparison with that lot out there - particularly blessed.

It is sad when a media company that offers a reasonable alternative to our state owned but independent tvnz goes down, but that is the risk when a news company is owned by an international conglomerate with one focus, and only one.
