Makes you sick doesn't it, and to further think that there are people in NZ who voted these very sorts of people into power here makes me doubly mad!!!!

Why are they concerned with gathering money at all costs?  This sort of preoccupation should be automatically banned by law as an attitude in leaders and politicians in power.  Life is short they need to learn that it is not all about gathering wealth and its appurtenances, you can't take it with you and also your action stop other citizens getting their fair share, such as it is.

Why do people vote in greedy leaders who they know are only going to use their political power to further the advantages of themselves and their mates, is it because they hope to gain in these reprehensible ways as well.

Life just becomes a big game to gather more than ones fair share of money etc.  Sickening really.

One wouldn't mind if they were doing this behaviour in isolation but that is not the case, they are affecting other peoples' lives who just want to make enough to get by and also enjoy their leisure time by doing what ever activities they wish that bring satisfaction in this short life.

I know it's a dog-eat-dog world but in a place like NZ why aren't things better managed instead of just having a free for all knock down all out brawl, so to speak.

The only reason I can think of for anyone voting greedy leaders in is that those doing so think they may have then have a chance at becoming wealthy themselves - that, or they didn't realise that they were greedy, although with this govt it must surely have ben clear.

Accumulating money & material posessions is an aim which I think most of us tend to grow out of as we mature & see the emptiness of going down that track, & the damage which can result from it. But for whatever reason some don't, & they either can't see or prefer to ignore, the damage done by that.

When kids are going hungry then something is very badly wrong, & any govt with a good moral stance would immediately start on fixing that, rather than  trying to shrug it off or worse, trying to blame parents when in these times its not invariably the parent's fault.

I'm inclined to agree that it should be banned - the entire world has seen the dire results of greed based Neo Liberalism, we know that those eager to increase their fortune make bad leaders/politicians for all of us. Perhaps its time to legally ban the excessively wealthy from standing as a politican - & make sure there are no loopholes they can use to hide wealth.
