Bridge Collapse - Baltimore
#4
The ship was traveling at 6 Knots, twice the speed it should have been if a pilot was on board.

It's a large cargo carrier, made to just fit through the Panama Canal widthwise, apparently built to a budget.

They're just leaving port, anyone want to bet, Captain and Chief Mate drunk and asleep, minor crew member in charge of ship?!?!

Apparently black box from ship has just been retrieved.

They dropped the anchor to slow down but why didn't they reverse the engines, must have four screws; maybe not enough time or lost communication since it is said they were having power blackout problems on board ship. I think they managed to radio a warning to shore which is why the bridge was mostly clear of traffic.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
