It appears that 500 million was blown on that project with nothing to show for it.
Best to start over. 3 billion for 2 ferries is a joke.

Well it wasn't 3 billion for 2 ferries, it was $600 million, the other costs were for the infrastructure, upgrading the ports etc 

We have the infrastructure deficit in NZ that we do precisely because of this short term thinking,  demonstrated nicely by National. And I would hazard a guess that at least half of the $500 million 'blown' is blown because we cancelled the contract...
