And sometimes those things are designed by people who don't actually use them. Which is probably why they come in such bloody awful colours!
I had fun yesterday, I took an old typewriter to pieces - well, undressed it might be a better way to put it - and gave it a good clean. And was delighted to find it went from really unusable to almost usable as a result, which is a great step forward. It is a friends machine, so now we can send it off to a repair man to do the really expert rehab, but I got to learn some new stuff in the process. I am really enjoying these machines, my family history project is well underway, and I am developing an aesthetic appreciation for the various models and their finer qualities. And quirks. I may be on the sidelines of a whole new world, lol.
I do like learning new things. Even if the process does make my brain hurt!
