That pic made me smile as well, Jan. I hope you don't mind if I share it in the NZ rose fb page. Roses are so tough; heaven knows why some treat them with kid gloves lol. Ours are doing so much better without the sprays and just a hard prune in July. In saying that, a lady in the FB rose group has had her roses stripped to the canes by the bronze beetle.
The climbing roses need tying back this morning, especially Gertrude Jeckyl. And I'll start digging the 'ditch' at the front of the garden to make it easier for the lawnmower guy to trim the edges. This will take a few mornings to do.
I worked a bit more on the hardanger yesterday afternoon and am very happy with it. There is something soothing about how it all comes together.
