I'd really quite like to see all those people who love bashing beneficiaries compelled to try living on a benefit themselves for a few months - it would increase understanding immensely...
They don't help themselves, they can look for work, but they don't

Wellington loses 11.6 percent of jobs in a year

OK, In my street, One lady on the DPB as looking after a child, her 2 sons (Mob) are on the dole, and their partners are there, on the DPB as well as have kids, State house, They Drink and smoke dope all the time, and they get just over $3000 a week from WINZ, rent is $280, Oh they will suffer how ???, Neighbor a few doors down, on the DPB (but kids don't live with her) just over $700 a week, and 250 rent. Yes they will suffer ??????
Oh, I see.
So then, according to you that therefore means that every person on a benefit is precisely the same..

NO sickness beneficiaries desperately in need of help & support.
NO people recently made redundant by our delightful govt, struggling to cope on what must seem a miniscule level of income.
NO homeless people trying to survive on the streets.
NO caregivers coping with their physically or mentally impaired children.
Given human nature there will always be those few who manage to work the system; I'd prefer we help those people rather than missing helping someone in desperate need.
Of course...its also very interesting that you seem to know so much about their circumstances. Or not, of course..

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
